Had a great ride today, his lordship is going so well for me at the moment, put him in the field at about 1.45pm, he was absolutaley fine, I felt really good, just been to feed him and his right eye is all swollen practically closed up, looks mostly likely like the flies/midges have bitten him, this is in spite of fly cream all around his eyes and face, allready pissed off before I went as youngest son has come round for tea in spite of knowingly being exposed to swine flu, we are supposed to go away next week on holiday, I also dont get paid if off work, now I have his lordships eye to worry about as well as catching flu, I am allready paranoid about him getting injured as last year he got kicked on his tendon a week before taking him on holiday, fortunately it didn't make him lame and was able to ride him, but it took weeks to heal, he still has the scar, not bloody happy

That sort of thing always used to happen to me when I was getting ready for our Annual mammouth riding holiday

One year he got stung on his **cough cough** Sheath and it was huge

... the Vet asked if he could get his 'todger' out and when I said yes, he said not to worry and showed me how to massage it

ChestnuttyMare, thanks for cold tea tip, I will take some in the morning when I give him his breakfast

Check his eye carefully. My mare looked like that and had poked herself in the eye in the hedge with a stick and got an ulcer on her eye. It probably isn't but you can't be too careful.

he was such a good patient too, stood there with me shining a torch in his eye to see the scratch on the lense

My horse has had a swollen eyes twice and that was him catching it on som, ething he got antibiotic cream and had to have it put in twice a day

Less pissed off now as his eye is practically ok this morning
