Pisses off that Post was removed? Does anyone know of appealing it?

Hi all, I put up a post last night looking for feedback on a video to further my career/train my eye as a coach/trainer/rider/videographer/photographer.

There was a link to a video in the post (youtube), and on youtube the horses video had the words for sale in it. I did not push nor emphasis this in any way, so much so that one person left a comment even suggesting I was promoting the sale. I have no involvement with the horse nor its owners, I did do the video for the rider.

Just to re- emphasis my first line "

So

A - do I not get any appeal as this was a legitimate learning experience as can be seen by ALL the posts in a 4 page thread?

and

B - Is somebody on here really THAT petty that they reported the thread for fear I was advertising a horse that might take a sale from them (which I wasn't, yet again, I do not own the horse, nor even know the owners)

Pissed off because I wanted to re - read the thread again
 
I think I saw the post, I didn't find anything wrong with it at all, so can't see why someone was willing to complain about it.
 
Thank you guys, I am so annoyed. Why would somebody bother posting like you say if someone else just decides to delete it?


Does anybody know will I get an answer to this? If H&H admin had taken the time to read the thread they would have clearly seen I was NOT promoting a sale, but trying to learn.
 
I'd message admin back, they won't come on here and read this post.

But if you made the video yourself and were not selling the horse or your services then I can't see the problem. Maybe someone misunderstood or maybe they were being naughty.......
 
Thing is, if somebody else's thread has previously been pulled because of advertising, they see yours and think it's on par with their's, button gets pressed.

Not saying it's right but you can kind of see their view point. Why should your post remain when theirs was pulled?

It wasn't me :), I did see the thread but didn't look at the vid.

I have been accused of button pushing and it isn't particularly nice because you can't defend yourself as there is no proof who did it. On the one occasion I did press the button, I PM'd the user to tell them why .... too bloody honest me :D.
 
Well, frankly, if it wasn't for all the how much/help with advert/decided to sell etc threads the blinking forum would be empty!
So, I think either a carpet ban on all those or not...
 
Grrr, so silly this is one of the reasons I am not so much on here. I read the replies to that post in the middle of the night and was really interested in people's thoughts and suggestions. Bloody button pushers baaaaah! If there was less of that nonsense I am sure the forum would be more as it was.

I definitely see your point, and I would not be so blatant as to try and advertise, but as I said, I don't have anything to do with the horse, nor was I trying to sell anything, which I made very clear when ONE poster commented as such...

It was very evident in a FOUR PAGE thread what we were discussing, and selling this horse was not it! It was only and absolutely a learning experience, where we discussed what we like to see, or disliked to see in a video, eg music, amount trot/canter (pace of video), transitions, turnout etc

From another angle I was trying to train my eye as a coach/trainer/rider (it was not me riding in the video, but a friend). It is much much different from the ground rather than in the saddle!

It is just so bloody frustrating to have it happen, AND have no recourse:mad:

wowsa, I just had a quick look at the new lounge there, you ARE RIGHT! never noticed that before.

This means that my posts were SINGLED OUT, therefore it was not as seen by the Admin, but it was reported by a FELLOW HORSEPERSON....nice. Then again, am I surprised :rolleyes:
 
Wasn't me, though I guess you probably think I'm number one suspect as I annoyed you in the OP. Don't understand why it was deleted tbh, it clearly wasn't advertising even if someone did press the button. :confused:
 
I think the one poster who asked was me :). I didn't understand what the post was about, but after my question was answered, others saw it and some really interesting comments came out - I was looking forward to reading more when I got home tonight. I certainly didn't push any buttons: if I had I would have had, in my opinion, a good reason and I would be happy to discuss it.

The only thing I would have thought would be, as others say ^^, is that it's a horse/rider not connected to you (they might not like the attention as it were), but on the other hand, they put a video up for all the world to see; plus the wording from Admin seems pretty focused on it being a selling issue.

Pah. Is getting very annoying. I can understand that HHO want people to pay to advertise through their various portals, but this is a bunch of horsey folks that want each others views and opinions. I'm not sure how it is going to be accomplished if the rules are to be so strictly followed :(. There are a number of people advertising either through their sigs or their names, but nothing happens to them (then again, do we want it to!).
 
Firstly I didn't see the thread so it certainly wasn't me that pushed the button. However, a quick look back through your posts shows that a good 50% of them are advertising your services or responding to comments and offering to sell items. Those would all be advertising so maybe the removal of the post in question was as a result of a cumulative thing?

NOT a fair comment at all Jemima_too.

I have just looked over my 50 posts in total, before replying to this, and two out of the 50 posts have mentioned that I have something for sale in Jest as comments on others threads.

I invite everyone on this thread to read back over my 50 posts to see what jemima_too has posted is very clearly FACTUALLY INCORRECT.

I have sent an email with the link to this thread to the Admin to see if I have any recourse.

I am really annoyed even if it does sound petty. I suppose I am like a dog with a bone now

ps - to jemima_too, I have never tried to sell my services, or tout for business. I have offered help to others on their threads based on my area of expertise.

More importantly, I have NEVER received ANY sort of warning until now about my conduct or posts on this forum.

My original post intended as offering a reason why you may have had trouble but really , who cares.

I really do not wish to go down this route with you, as I agree were were probably trying to help me, however implying that I only come here to ply my wares was a bit over the top. And

obviously anyone who replied to this thread does, which includes you?! :)

I am not here to get in a public spat jemima_too, I just want answers as to why my 4 page thread that brought up some interesting points, and DID NOT contravene the "no selling/advertising" rule was deleted, and I as a user was formally "warned" for my actions?

I have PM'd them with a link to this thread, thanks martlin. I guess it is just a waiting game now, one that will end up with no reply.

BTW, the rider was ok with his video being here!
