Sorry I have been on here abusing you all evening (that is also a death defying job you know!
) Does it HAVE to be a sad dog and a suitcase??? Or could we have something...a bit more.....cool?!
Cool - make it better wont you P![]()
Me Carey, will have a play later...or I may just wait until this teccy crew of BC's come up with something and then I wont have to bother![]()
Lol, No I will try and do some designs of some sort later.
Couldnt really make it any frigging worse could I?!
There have been some amusing joke entries so far, I'll let it go over the weekend and see if any proper ones turn up.![]()
What do u mean explain yourself![]()
Erm, I don't think we should bother waiting for any more BC...... The MS Paint classic at the top is surely a keeper?!![]()
Another few ideas borrowed from the group I used to volunteer with:
Add information specific to adopting a rescue dog - you can do myths or hints on settling in/training an older dog, etc.
Also, they had the option to sponsor an individual dog so they would put a sponsor/donate button under each available dog's profile. That way if someone was really touched by a dog's story or face or whatever, they could donate to that dog. This is really useful if the dog has large vet's bills so it could also just be put under those dogs with the purpose of raising funds for that instead if you preferred (probably less to keep up with). To encourage the sponsorship they would put their name or something else the donor wrote as well before the sponsor button ... People would put things like "Thanks to Adopt-a-Dog Northeast for our darling Fluffy - Bill and Mary Smith" or "Get well soon Rover - Bill and Mary Smith" or "In memory of Fluffy - Bill and Mary Smith." You get the idea ...
And, if you are a registered charity, if that has tax benefits in the UK like it does here (sorry, I don't know), you might want to put that up near the donate buttons somewhere.
I can look into it, it's certainly a good idea. Galupy, could you give me some examples of the site you mean? I can be a tad slow at times, and seeing how another site functions would give me a better idea of how to implement it onto the current platform.
I see brown and yellow too.
For the rehomed dogs section I like the way this site does it in blog format so you just keep adding new ones to the top of the page (maybe starting off with a selection of the more dramatic stories from the past?). I find it makes me keep looking at the site to see more heart-warming stories and happy photos so if there were a donate button on that page I would probably be persuaded to donate more often too
