I currently have a place available on a classical dressage clinic at Somerby Eq Centre in leicestershire with Australian trainer Margi Armstrong this place is available due to my girl having the most devastating diagnosis from Animal Health Trust.
The clinic cost me £450 but I realise at this short notice I will not get all that money back, a friend originally was going to take my place but her horse is off work now so I would ideally like to find someone to take my place and re coup some money. Stabling is 17.50 a day at Somerby that includes hay/haylege, bedding and all mucking out. It is not residential though but people do come from far away and there are local b&b's for all budgets. If this is of interest to you please pm me an offer or your mobile number and I will call and give you any info you want, I could also put you in touch with others who go.
For anyone interested in classical dressage this really is an amazing opportunity, Marji trained for several years with both the late Franz Mairinger of Spanish Riding School, Vienna and Maestro Nuno Oliveira, of Portugal. Nuno inspired her with a philosophy of working in harmony and co-operation with the horse, rather than achieving results by domination.
Equally important and parallel to the training with the Masters, has been the experience gained from working with both: her own large herd of horses over many years ranging from breeding and training newborn foals to the advanced training of mature horses in Haute Ecole, Grand Prix level dressage and Showjumping.

Day one:
am: Discussion with Marji and fellow students to establish what you want to get out of the course, what problems you may have and where you are currently at with your horse.
pm: Marji asesses your riding skills, all participants ride so Marji can see how you and your horse work together.
Day two - five:
The sessions in the morning include in hand work and lunging skills. This is to elasticise your horse to enable him to learn to balance himself without the burden of his rider. This is invaluable as it allows you to see if your horse has any restrictions in himself before you try to do the ridden work. Marji continuously instructs you throughout these sessions and gives you tasks to work on and perfect for the 6 months after the clinic.
The lunch break is spent in the local country pub eating home cooked food and discussing the mornings activities. Marji is focused on ensuring you understand what you have been doing so after each session there is a question and answer session about what you have got out of each group session.
The afternoon is spent riding. Marji will only do what is appropriate to your and your horse so you will have a one to one session with her but also you may have the option to participate in group dressage to music which is fantastic to watch and do!
This is a clinic for all abilities, whether you're an extremely nervous rider and you want help getting back in the saddle after a fall or even if you haven't ridden for years and you want to get your confidence back. This is an ideal opportunity! If you are an experienced horse owner and you want to develop your dressage skills even further this is a brilliant way of doing it also, Marji trains to the higher levels as well as begginners.
Participants on this clinic are training their horses to piaffe and passage ridden and in hand - if you're not at this level yourself but want to get there, this is a perfect place to watch how it is taught and is an amazing opportunity to watch other people, learn from them and get inspired!
If this is of interest to you or anyone you know please do pm me any offer considered. Also in CR.
Thank you
Terri
