Has anyone else experienced the following with their horse?
There are some forestry tracks near my livery yard. Ever since we moved to this yard like two years ago, my horse has never been 100% happy hacking on aforesaid forestry tracks. She isn't wild and she will go, but she's tense, a little spooky, and it would be unwise to let her slop along on a long rein. It doesn't make for relaxed hacking. This horse has hacked out in two different countries, three states, multiple barns, on road, off road, mountains, forests, and has never been so determined to permanently dislike a certain route. She hacks out fine on other local routes (mainly on the road, which sucks, as the dodgy forestry is pretty much the only off road hacking in the immediate area).
Even I (with my limited human senses) am aware that weird sh i t certainly goes down in the forestry in question. On various hacks there, we have encountered more than one burned out car, fly-tips, piles of scrap, spent shotgun shells, bits and pieces of car engines, and that's just the stuff I was able to identify.
The horse must know something.
