placing pole distance?

How far away from a jump should a placing pole be? It's just going to be a small cross and spread.

Surely for a placing pole, stride isn't *that* important - rather than canter or trot poles

About 9 feet, so three big strides (depending on the length of your stride, obviously) but that usually works for me

i usually do 3 of my own walking strides for a place pole.
