Some people say that if you put plain flour in horses feed it will stop them getting loose droppings when on haylage-is this true and does it work?

Limestone flour or the type you cook with? Never heard of feeding the type of flour you cook with! Limestone flour can help with a calcium / potassium imbalance which can result on loose droppings. (The imbalance - not the flour!) Not sure I'd just mix it in though - you only need a small amount. The rest would just get all over the floor wouldn't it?

The horses guts are organs not a cooking bowl, you can't just add flour to thicken things up! Though somebody I know suggested doing it for their own horse, but in that case it turned out the horse needed a wormer to stop the diarrhoea.
