Want to try WHP/RHP classes with pony at show soon but hes a Fell and i know hes not the ideal type for the class but i want to see how he goes. anyway, do i plait him or not? he has a pretty long thick main so i can only really do i runner plait.

For WHP, I'd probably say no and if you can keep an eye open for M&M WHP classes. For RHP, go for it but I wouldn't say you'd need to as he's a true M&M!

No dont plait, the judge should know he is a native ,I have shown Welsh C/New forests/Dales in WHPs and they have won against plaited ponies.
Take him in all his natural glory and hope the judge is Knowledgeable ,just remember showing is one persons opinion on the day and have fun.

DEFINATLEY DO NOT PLAIT!!!

show as his breed type, as Be Positive said, plenty of m&m's have won against plaiteds.

Also he would look proper "Speshal" if you tried plaiting him and leaving him with massive plaits and feathers

Why don't you look to do some M&M WHP classes, if you do a normal WHP on a fell technically it wont be correct - not sure how the judge would respond - whether they would place you last even if you went clear? You'd probably get away with it more at unaffiliated local level but definitely not at affiliated level. If the pony jumps you should do well in M&M WHP classes though! :)
