Yes or no ?

I've seen these becoming quite popular on the m&m show ponies and wondered if they were acceptable in the ring?

What do you think of them on a large breed m&m or worker type pony, should I stick to plain?

Any photos of ponies in the above appreciated :)

Ive seen them alot on m&ms and working hunter and i love them but traditionally they should both be shown in plain flat browbands so im also undecided as to weather or not i should buy them for a few of mine

i love them, they can really brighten up a plain head.

I use them currently on a LR M&M, a LR hunter pony and also a working hunter/RoR. And for every day use too, just like the look of them!

I think they look nice but I tend to go plain on my horses, haven't seen much of them in the ring so far but then the classes I watch it would be unlikely.

Im seeing more and more of them about but then in general have noticed a distinct lean towards thicker browbands in general with even the coloured show pony browbands being at least an inch wide now. I think its a matter of what suits the pony, if plaited doesnt look right but the width does then then you can now easily get pony sized one inch thick plain browbands which is another consideration

One thing i would add is if using a plaited browband make the reins plaited or plain - one thing that looks terrible is a plaited browband teamed with laced reins!

The ponies in question are a fell pony and section d, both with plain heads but are shown in m&m classes in which the breed standard says 'plain workmanlike bridle'

I've seen a lot of dales/fell/welsh wearing them though but don't want to be marked down for it?

I like them, a couple of the Ds at the local show had them on. I am planning on getting my boy one as a treat if we ever get a first placing :p

i don't know about suitability for various show classes, but i like them and am not really a bling person, so these give a little uplifting without being really bling. bought my first plaited browband roughly 15 years ago.

now, wether or weather? (sorry, ebing pedantic)
