plaiting for in hand classes?

Which classes should a horse be plaited for? I know M&M's should be left unplaited (or the Foresters should be at least!), but what about things like part bred and coloured? Is plaiting usually seen or is it up to you?
I only really have experience showing New Forest Ponies so a little unsure what to do with an Appaloosa x !!

plaiting depends on type... for coloureds... if you'd plait 'em if they weren't coloured you plait em and the 'native types' and traditionals are show 'au natural'... basically if in doubt plait

It it's a coloured native or tradition don't plait anything else do plait. M&m should not be plaited unless part bred pm me of you need help x
