Doing the walk/trot test a week on sun so as I had a day off today and the sun was shining I thought I would practice, his mane does need a wash, but do these look ok-ish??

He must be settling a bit more because he actually stood and let me plait him

Very good expression on his face....bit like my boy "I'll put up with you playing hairdressers and making me look a poof if you feed me later!!".

Plaits look fine, if you could pull his mane they would be smaller but if this isn't poss then they are absolutely fine (esp after 20yrs of not doing it!!!). Well done!!

I count 14 on his neck make it an uneven number, also try and get the plaits to sit up a little bit towards the bottom of his neck cos it will make his neck look better ( by that I mean curvier cos he has a nice neck ) I think they look fab!

Looks good to me (but I have 2 natives, so only plaited either for fun by the children or for PC area events). I found a good product called Lynn Rusell's quick plait. Made it very easy to get a good grip on the hair for plaiting (I have a grey, so have no choice but to do it on freshly washed hair)
