Updated on plaiting lmao >
plated my youngsters mane today.. what i cock up !!
i manage to do 30 plaits :O How can i minmise this number ..elp show on saturday ?

Shorten & thin his mane as much as possible before then - either pull or use a solo comb/mane rake.

How long is your youngsters neck?, 30 is really going some!!!

Did you section off your mane first before you started plaiting. I've always been led to believe theres a correct number of plaits you should have in a mane, it should be an odd number on the neck and one for the forelock, Someone help me out here but think it could be 21 on the neck, then once youve got the right amount start plaiting. If the plaits are far too thick at that then you'd be as well to thin your mane.

Hmmmmmmm good question, not certain, I've always gone with 21 but mines a giraffe of a TB X.
Theres probably no right and wrong but its not unusual for some sort of show ring standards at certain levels.

she anit show ring worthy lmao just to make her look smart at shows ...never plaited b4 because my other one is hogged (sweetitch).

Odd on the neck even including the forelock.
Shouldnt be more than 11 for showing and the forelock makes 12. 9 if she has an overly long neck, 11 if its a short neck. One of my friends old hunters used to have 5!!!
Dressage people tend to use more plaits on the neck, hence why some people might have 21!! My boy has never had more than 11 though.
