I'm liking the plan to teach W to go sideways. Is Winnie's naughtiness refined enough so we can teach my one the subtleties of shoulder-in and travers in addition to leg-yield in one go? Save me having to box him back and forth you understand. Winnie could have a whole new (lucrative?) career ahead of him....
Oh and of course your grooming at Le Lion, a few others too if I have my way
Winston can do all sorts atm - his new habit is doing the wheelbarrow race move - you know the one, when they stand on their front legs with their heads down!!!!
He can also sing too, its squeals LOUDLY - its a bit like a warning noise before it explodes....
Oh but the shoulder in and travers are brilliant, because hes SO ON HIS TOES he does eveeryting with such enthusiasum and tries really hard - we could tie William to Winston so he will have to follow suit lol
Got all registered and planned 1st half of season last year then my boy decided it sounded it too much like hard work and developed low ring bone instead
Can't do any more with him now and baby is def not ready
Arghh!!
I have no events at the start of the season to groom at. My boss is due 1st of May so at the least it will be the end of June/ start of July before she is riding properly again. So if anyone my area (you know who you are) whats a groom, I'm available at weekends. I'll miss it to much otherwise.
ive planned first two events!! too worried after what happened last year to plan too far in advance - we ended up withdrawing from 50% of the events we entered
But:
Hattie is hopefully doing: Stilemans PN (if its not snowed off or something!)
Munstead intro

Hey L think on the bright side no muddy horses or standing around freezing for you this year!
I am sure a few of us could keep you busy at events!

True. Though I'll still miss the excitment and worry that you get when they set off on the xc course. Still I can come watch and help you guys.
We're doing (hopefully, she'll probably go lame!)
Munstead intro, unaff HT at S of E, then all going well S of E PN, Nurstead, Mattingley, Borde Hill, Eridge, Tweseldown, Brightling, Iping, Little Mattingley (maybe not all of the last 3), PC areas, Firle, Goring, S of E, Pulborough.
If shes going well will do novice at Brightling/Iping, open PC area (1.10m) then novice at Firle/S of E x
clearly you lot havent been doing this long enough....i am planning my riders season to start as late as possible and finish soon as i can say lets all go on holiday!
First one is munstead intro in march and see how it goes from there. Possibly Mattingley and/or Borde Hill in May. Then depending on how we've done might try twesledown PN in july but see how it goes as its his first season.
xxx
atm plannig on doing the Intro at B&W, then the PN at Aldon and Belmont. Then Sienna goes off to see her husband and I steal the ride on friend's horse to do some aff dressage.....
well im hoping to do isleham and poplar but not other plans apart from that, its really going to depends on whether or not i can get her ready by then due to lack of facilities
I'm going to do some pony club intro's, if these go well I might a few 1m tracks and then do PC areas in July, I'm hoping to start B.E (if all goes well) at either bishop Burton or prestwold hall and then take it from there. I've been dragged into groom for my trainer who is doing young rider trials ,so that could be interesting
CCj will no doubt have definite plans, horses staying sound of course, but I think we will do Bath and West, Two Pontispool's, Stockland Lovell, the new event on Exmoor, Winkleigh, Hatherleigh, Blackdown Hills and then see how much horsepower and cash we have remaining in the autumn!
The Dorset events sound interesting and within a day's drive too.
Horses will be Layla doing Intro. Jonty doing Pre Novice/Novice . Chocolate Pre Novice, Diamond Intro and Pre Novice.
It's going to be quite a job getting them all fit, I can see me ending up excercising weighing Chocolate down, at least he will find CCJ a lot lighter to carry!
(no to see what daughter's plans are, I bet the events are more than mine...I hope she 's got plenty of money to help pay or them.....)
both posting at the same time. Great news that Jonty is coming out this season. Fingers crossed for her. Look forward to seeing you at some events.
I haven't planned beyond Aldon or Bath and West - can't decide. Not rejoined yet either. Need to get a jiffy on as it's not long
ha ha, she is upstairs on her computer so I don't know what she's doing!
The bad bit is I forgot Nutwell Court, definitely doing that one as it is so near, I'd better star planning which of the youngsters to sell to fund it all.. we have belgian chap coming over in April to start some of the four year olds off, he has worked in top yards and rode really well, we met him in Crete (see pics of 6'2" dreamboat riding on the beach on my blog) and then we plan to sell one or two and a three year old..
Hopefully we will get to see you again this year, but I'm not counting my chickens until I see how many sound horses we end up with. At least starting with four gives us a chance!
