I know I am probably being a bit optimistic about the weather...but my boy was being attacked by midges already today...and it's March!

Last year I tried my best with lotions and potions but he still spent most of his time in his field shelter looking hot and bothered and fed up of the flies

So do any you have any ideas that have worked for you in the fly season? What do you all do...buy fly sheets???

All help gratefully received...

I've found Coopers Fly Repellent Plus to be very effective, it seems expensive (about £20 a bottle I think) but one application lasts 3 days.

Yeah amazed to see midges all around my horse this pm - getting in his ears and driving him mad. I normally use a rambo fly protector, face mask and then if it's really hot and I don't want him sweating, I take the rug off and just use coopers green fly rep.

We have a summer field ready and waiting but too muddy to ruin, but flies have been around and sooooo annnoying, it's the mid "chuck out crisis" at our yard!! When will the rain abate?!??!?
