Just wondered if anyone has any experience of trying to obtain planning permission for an all weather surface in National Parks (Brecon Beacons N.P.in particular)? What about stabling / barn etc.? Was it difficult / easy / non starter?!! Thanks

Hi, afraid I don't have any specific knowledge of that in the area you're asking about, but all the advice I could give you from personal experience would be that your 'luck' differs from property to property, and the amount of effort that you put into the quality of your plans and design of your potential development. At the end of the day, it's all down to the planning commitee that your property falls under and if they feel it's appropriate, so being meticulous at this stage really pays off.
I have seen restrictive-development covenants overturned in national parks in the last year (took 2 years for the developers to fight it though), so anything is possible.
All I would say is, if it's not already your property I probably wouldn't advise buying it on the hope that you may get planning as it could turn in to a long and costly mistake. Hope this has been of vague use to you ...!
