Right, I can tell this winter is going to be made up of BD, BSJA and totally irrelevant posts

So, lets start a list going - what have you done in 2008, how has that influenced your plans for 2009, and what will be your first event in the spring [eventers]?

To start it off...I got a new neddy in February [P], despite not looking for one! VWH masters horse... Sort of fell into our laps over xmas, and we decided he was too good to miss. Had my GCSE's which halted everything for a while, and also had no transport as someone drove into our lorry. Using hire lorries and lifts, managed to get to Solihull and Oasby with new one, then he had stitches mid summer. Took him to ALW UA PN where he did a stonking D/C, and then took him to Burnham Novice where he cruised XC and did a nice SJ round. Finished the season with Oasby Intro [replacing SGO] and came 5th with his first sub-40 test. Big grey [T] had virus mid summer, and hasn't been ridden since Solihull [2] where I w/d before XC. My SGO [C] started his eventing career and has done 3 intro's beautifully, giving me an awesome feel around a v tough intro track at Gt Witchingham, making me decide to move him up to PN...but the event was cancelled

He's now doing BSJA like a little cracker, winning 90% of the time.

So, how's that influenced my 2009 season? Well I'm doing a lot of DR & BSJA this winter, DR with P, BSJA with all 3. Hopefully trying to sell C.
Coming out in the spring, doing a PN or two with P, 5 or 6 Intros with T to get his confidence back up, and intros / PNs with little one if we still have him. Have planned my season on last years calendar, hoping to do the * at Knaptoft with P, and T's first novice will be Eland. Now we have our transport back hoping that I can really push ahead with my boys. P gave me a wicked feel round Burnham Novice, so know that he's more than capable. Might do a "kind" intermediate towards the end of the season.

So, who else wants to talk...?

wanted to get to BE event in 2008 - well I made it, and unfortunatly got elim in SJ as I predicted!

However, I intend get on with it properly in 2009, plenty of Sj practise over winter (not going to do BSJA tho!). Would like to be able to get horsie out of Intro by the end, he certainly has the talent, but getting him to use it is another matter!

As the ginger one is being sold and I now have a new pony to play with I really dont know yet what I will be doing in 2009.
Horse is bred to event, moves very well and has a huge jump but not sure its ever seen an XC course yet
Off to BSJA in 10 days time. XC schooling soon after. A few stressage training sessions then I'll decide.
Only definite is BSJA during the winter.

Well I got my first taste of BE in 2008 with T, got a new horse 2 months ago, am going to do lots of showjumping and dressage this winter, some xc schooling early next year before our first event- PN at Sapey hopefully, then do another PN or two before I move up to novice/JRN.
Am hoping to do a 1* at the end of next year so lets see how it goes

Well not planning the eventing season, that didnt go to well last year... had a whole list of ones i was going to, not many happened....

But plan on doing 1 or 2 dresage comps before xmas -hartpury :-), then dress and sj practice after xmas (i quite want to join bsja but we will see - might ask for membership for xmas)...

Then we will wait and see about the eventing season will think/try to when entrys are about to open....

The second half of the season depends on what and where i am after graduation...

In 2008 I acheived my goal of moving Moon up to intermediate

In 2009 I hope to get back in the swing of things with a couple of INs then get back up to intermediate if all feels good and have a season of building up her experience at this level. If the feelings right then we'll try for a couple of CIC**s to qualify for CCI**
My aim is to get 1/4 of our dressage test in the 30s......

With Millie, If she comes out feeling forward thinking and is enjoying her jumping then we'll do some intros and go from there.

Penfold had a really consistant year and got his first BE points.Unfortunately he started having a breathing problem and tiny nose bleeds, he was scoped and they think he is displacing his palate but investigations are expensive and treatment not very successful so we are using a tongue guard and grackle noseband and will try to get him very fit for next season . We hope he can start in novice next season and move up to intermediate but we will see how he is.
Rafi is too clever for his own good and because we don't want to ungrade him he just does enough BD classes to qualify and then rests. Still next year he can move on up and hope to start doing some mediums [ even if only training to get a petplan qualification] He is going to winter champs for Spillers and hope for a wild card at petplan elem. [ he came 3rd but only 1 mark from winning which was less than half % as there were equal firsts] and he is doing regionals for prelim and novice and music, so lots to look forward to.
Just need the money to top up the arena so we can use it!
We need something to look forward to as the winter is so hard.

Dont do planning now as it always disappoints! Depending on financial constraints, I want to get back to eventing G at PN and maybe move to novice at some stage, but we will prob start off introing again for a bit to get him super cocky and enjoying himself again!!

Most of all though I want to go back to having fun with my horse, and also having a bit of a life myself!!

2008 was the year that I got back into horse ownership and a little bit of competing, having not done anything since spring 2006. My little mare has proven to be a nice allrounder, and I am feeling more ambitious than ever before. We completed a training level BE event as our first ODE with a lovely fast clear XC, and she has been jumping well around 2'9 showjumping courses, plus schooling well over distinctly bigger stuff at home.

So 2009 will start off with some winter BSJA (I have registered to force myself to do it!) want to have her jumping well around british novices, and hopefully 1m classes too by the start of the spring. Also going to keep up the dressage lessons and some unaffiliated prelim classes. Looks like our first event to aim at is the intro at Tweseldown in march - will have to judge how she's going, but i'm hoping she will be ready to PN by mid season, and perhaps we'll aim at doing the PN 3 day at aldon to finish the season. All depends on soundness, transport and money, of course.

My big grey chap is coming back from loan to live with mum in gloucestershire. Prior to him going on loan we had some good results at elementary BD. I would love, just for the experience, to do a few of the easier medium tests on him - the scores won't be impressive, but he has the knowledge in place (just not the grace!!) - it's just something I'd love to do.

2008 was supposed to be full of BSJA - unfortunately pony went lame after Easter Bicton and is now not going to be jumping anymore. She is sound now but has been retired and hoping to put her in foal in the spring.
Now have new horse was I am working on getting fit (and slimming down as he is a bit on the porky side!) and am hoping to have him ready to do BN after xmas - fingers crossed apart from that I am not planning anything else as I planned it for 2008 and it all went pear shaped !!!

Not really sure. My 3 year old turns 4 in 09 so my plan will be to get her out as much as poss, unaff dressage/ showing and then onto the 4 year old classes.

With Viento, I have no idea as he is still at show jumping yard not sure if I should sell him, loan him to a young rider or be an "owner" for a comp rider.

I feel like I had a good 2008 I achieved my goal of doing a few good novices with Dext also got a clear SJ and got 3 1* qualifying results.

Also Dougal exceeded all expectations by going clear XC at every event
smile.gif

Next year without making the plans too solid!! Dexter will be aimed at a couple of 1*'s some IN's and maybe an Int if im feeling brave! And Dougal will just be doing PN and if he does them like he did his intro's i'll be very happy!
smile.gif

I was planning on doing 4 Intros this year & managed 1!

Therefore will be squashing more intro's in hopefully starting with my fave, Kirriemuir.
grin.gif

Roll on April!

Winter will be BD/BSJA & SEA arena events hopefully.
smirk.gif

Wanted to do a * this year but didnt ever get round to it, my goal was to make the time novice XC, to try and SJ clear at Novice and to try and Qualify for a NRF, he amde the time at all the events I tried to go for the time (too dangerous at dauntsey with no front studs in) he had one SJ clear and has qualifed for 2 regional finals. Also clear at every XC event this year. Wanted a sub 30 test but closest we got was 31.

Goals for 2009 to try and jump more clears SJing, to do well at the NRF's (not much chance of that!) to have a go at intermediate and to do at least 1 * if not 2.

Joined the BSJA now to force myself to go Show jumping!

Not sue I'm allowed to post here but
tongue.gif
.

2008 was amazing- Pip did 3N's with Dad, placed in all of them. I did 2N's with him, coming 3rd and 4th. Did Austria which was amazing. Retired from my first N chamionship qualifier as did too much before.

2009- I'm hoping to get someone to sponsor me
tongue.gif
, so I can learn to drive, get a job, work towards getting transport. Or they could just fund transport
tongue.gif
.Until then my parents will take me to 4 events. I am doing the first Ashfields, in preparation for the chanel cup as my 2nd event. Depending on how the structure is next year will probably do a NQ for my third. If I qualify for the national from the one event, ill go to the nationals if not its chosing between the Junior nationals (where ill have to go open...eek! ) or East Anglian championships. I'm grroning at the world championships too- I can't wait, although my sister is now going too
I would also like to be able to afford to affilate BD with Pippy but at the moment its not worth it. After Easter I'll be on the look out for a dressage riding horse on loan although not atall desperate, I want it by 2011
tongue.gif
.
Dad has booked in for 4 events- Brighton, Sandringham, Borde Hill and the East Anglian championships.

My sister may make her outdoor debut next year, if so she will get the choice of 4PN's that I may be able to drive at.

Well 2008 was pretty rubbish, as I had to sell Josh in February due to lack of money
frown.gif
So I had nothing to compete all year!

But 2009 is full of promise - if Bob can stop throwing himself on the floor and injuring himself
tongue.gif
- but I have lowly aspirations
smile.gif
I am hoping to do some dressage and SJ over the winter, then start with Intro and maybe go to PN next season.

So my goal will be a sub-35 dressage and a double clear at PN
blush.gif

In 2008 J started his eventing career, and went straight in at PN used the season as a schooling run and he was on cracking form by his last PN at Oasby.

In 2009 I plan to come out at Poplar and do the PN to get him in to the swing of things, then up to Novices. Would like to to a 1* by the end of the season
smile.gif

Well 08 didn't go quite to plan. Started with two great horses on loan and it went really well, did first JRN clear, one had a 20 pen. Next JRN went great on one and had a double clear and came 9th!! Tother had a disaster though so we decided to send him back. He was lovely but we struggled SJ'ing together. Then it went downhill, horse started stopping and we had 2 bad runs, I was convinced it was a virus but trainer blamed me totally. Then finished well, but loads were cancelled.

09 aims: have a new ponio and do; JRN, novice and hopefully 2 cci*'s hopefully Burgie and Weston JRN, and maybe an intermediate if all goes well.
Would love to have a youngster, maybe the one I have on loan and do some PN's and see how it goes on that one.

Basically want to improve Dressage and get some DC's

Doubt my 2009 will include BE.

Having been balloted too many times this year and only getting to 1 event, I cant see the point in stressing out over it again. (not bitter at all). Will have fun locally doing everything I want to and may investigate Jumpcross as a viable alternative.

Had a brilliant 2008 season. He's turned into a double clear/rosette machine at PN and we achieved my ambition of getting up to novice
grin.gif
even though I thought I'd never be brave enough and being SOOO close to a point at Wee Burgie (darn first show jump
frown.gif
grin.gif
)

2009 will probably be my last season with mr Keats
frown.gif
before I head off to uni if things go to plan, so I'd just like to have fun at novice and gain a few points and placings. I'm going to aim for a 1* but not put pressure on it. I just want both of us to enjoy ourselves. Walking a novice course is enough to give me a heart attack, in fact PN still scares me! haha

well 2008 i have achieved some goals... i got to do a 1* on huge horse.
sadly didnt manage to get a sub 30 dressage this season but got a 30.
i aimed to get a point and managed to get 10 so pleased with that.
but sadly i have had lots of cancelled events and my PN horse has had hardly any runs due to that and gravel.
for 2009 i want happy horses that do well.

My 2008 has been full of surprises . At the beginning of the year it was incredibly dire because I had one lame horse and one horse with a back prob so absolutely no hope or money of managing to do any eventing this year.

However by pure coincidence/fate I stumbled across this super horse (woody) that I somehow managed to buy
grin.gif
( well, actually it was my mum that bought him for me
tongue.gif
)

My aim for next year is a few PN's/ mostly N's then a intermediate and a CCI *star at the end of the season. I know we can do it, it is just a case of getting the training behind us.

Also it looks like I might possibly have a new ride or 2 for someone else in the pipeline for '09....
grin.gif

I reckon it ll be Isleham PN for me in March for the first event....
