Hi AAD!

Hope you and all your pups are good!

Harvey has just finished a tub of Plaque Off (e.g. https://www.petsathome.com/product/...Id=21168&purchaseType=easy-repeat&weight=180g) and I think it does help as the vet always comments on how clean his teeth are (he is 10 now and we do sod all else to clean his teeth...).

Is this: https://naturalhorsesupplies.co.uk/products/100g-seaweed?_pos=2&_psq=Seaweed&_ss=e&_v=1.0 basically the same?

Plaque Off itself is expensive and I've never been sure why, but suspect it is part-gimic... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Someone in The Tack Room suggested Natural Horse Supplies recently, and I thought I'd look...

Thanks in advance!

Not sure I would use that myself unless it had more information on where it came from and what sort it is. I would imagine not all seaweeds are equal, but that's sort of a guess
Currently also using Canident, but i'm thinking of going back to Plaqueoff despite the price as i'm not sure why I have to use nearly 3 times as much of it compared to Plaqueoff .
I also noticed a huge improvement with PO , but nothing further with the Canident. Been giving it for about a month now.

Another for canident here

Plaque off did nothing for the tooth brush challenged JRT but canident has made a difference.

I tried canident for my boy - the recommended dose was 2 x scoops - but even starting at 1/4 of 1 scoop for 2 days, he then had violent diarrhoea for 3 days. Seaweed doesn’t agree with all dogs!

I'm considering switching to Canident when we get through this tub of Plaque Off. The first tub we had I thought had worked well but now even with that and brushing the plaque is building up. I suspect we will be off for a dental check up/cleaning in the near future. Interested to hear others' experiences with different products.

I have just nought kelp powder from amazon and used that it's basically the same but a bit cheaper, I think it worked just as well as the branded stuff to be honest.

I also get my groomer to clean my dogs teeth at least once a year it's about £50 and the result is amazing well worth the money, for the same procedure the vet quoted me £600 as they only do it under a general anesthetic.

My groomer also recommended the oral gel that you just squeeze onto the teeth it's called logic and you use it daily.

I've looked into alternatives but haven't found anything one way or the other to say they work better or worse than plaque off so haven't switched. They all have good teeth so don't dare risk it.

We use canident after a recommendation on here. I only give her half the recommended scoops and it has still worked wonderfully and the vet thought that we are brushing her teeth (no chance of that)....

I just brush Megs teeth every morning when I do mine! Logic oral hygiene gel on a finger brush. Takes 20 seconds and if I forget I can smell her breath!
