After years off wear and tear my reins have finaly suffered enough abuse and broken.
I borrowed my friends reins which were rubber grip which really blistered my fingers.. what reins do you use and whats the best to buy? Its been so long since i have brought any and there are so many now ! I have been looking at Collegiate soft padded reins, has any body used these before and are they slippery? Thank you , all comments really appreciated.

I don't get on with normal rubber reins either, I find them too thick and too hard on my hands, and they shred my gloves.

I use biogrip rubber reins on my jumping bridle - loads of different manufacturers make them now so you can shop around to get a good price. They are more flexible and softer than normal rubber reins, but still grippy. I like laced reins on my flatwork bridle. Never used the soft padded reins, I'm afraid!

I use stubben rubber reins, they dont have leather running through them so they are not too stiff and bulky.
On strong horses i like continental webbing reins with the leather stops on them.

I have the biogrips too, I use them with my double. they are soft and grippy but for me seem to give a slightly insecure feel so I stick to normal rubbers for other stuff jumping and alike.

I always wear gloves to protect my hands and use the eventa type rubber reins. They are all rubber (no leather through them) and very soft, recommend them to you.

I use ordinary rubber reins, although they are VERY old and supple. I seem to manage ok without gloves, so maybe I have hands with skin like old leather?! (I'm only 23!) Anyway, I really should get a pair of gloves, I doubt my hands will thanks me for all the punishment as I get older!
