I had just given her the first wash of 2007, before that I had ridden, and jumped, all of which she did perfectly, I was thrilled with her. And looking forward to the first RC show of the season next weekend.
An hour after I washed her, I put her feed in, brought murph out into the field and put his feed there, walked back into the yard, heard a noise from JBs stable, looked in and she was on the ground breathing heavily.
I got her up and got her into the yard, she tried to go down again, I thought colic, rang vet, he said he'd be half and hour. I kept her walking. Nearing the end she couldnt move, she went down, and we left her there, but wouldnt let her roll.
Vet said not colic, thought heart failure. Gave her some injections, and he left to go to another call. And he would come back.
He came back and said no improvement, and we had to put her to sleep.
I am devastated, murphs been off since Sept, so I have been working with her since then. I feel like a part of me is missing. I havent slept very well since it happened (on friday).
Please please appreciate your horses, give them hugs, polos, tell them you love them,
You never know when they are going to be taken from you. She was only 15. And technically not even mine, she was my super sub since Murph has been off. I miss her soo much.
