Horse remains in hospital. Cellulitis still being treated but he is stable. He could come home but YO has been very clear that he will come home to OWNER'S care. He is not walking him out, which is a necessary part of the care. Not sure when he might return or what will happen if owner does not rehab properly, but we shall see. Prognosis is still very guarded. 'Far from out of the woods'. No-one has seen owner obviously. But YO updates every so often as we are all invested.
Thanks for updating x

Thanks for the update, glad he's stable and still at the hospital where he can receive the care he needs.

I've only just seen this and I'm furious with the owner. What a despicable person she sounds. I really hope the horse pulls through and is handed to a nicer owner.

This may be my final update in the circumstances. Saw YO yesterday who told me that owner has not paid for transporting the horse to hospital, nor for livery for August. Presumably on the basis that if he died, she'd do a runner. So she is not coming back. She's getting her stuff over the weekend. I'll stay out of the way as I have no desire to see her. And then hopefully will never see her again! What a way to behave. Getting a horse you do sweet FA with as a status symbol. Coming up to take pics for social media of 'pony life' and 'pony love' once in a blue moon and then pissing off again for weeks. Not looking after your own horse in extemis for literally no reason. The work meeting was at 9am the following morning. Just fancied a night in a hotel on expenses I assume, instead of one looking after YOUR OWN sick animal. And to cap it all off - not paying a really hard-working, really dedicated YO, who probably saved the horse's life, staying up with him and transporting him instead of making her sort it out herself and wait for a transporter. What a way to behave. What goes on in the mind of someone like that.

I may not hear the outcome of this. Though the horsey gossip grapvine is quite effective locally, so if the horse is discharged to a new yard nearby, then I may find out. I'll update if I do. As my YO says - the horses are always fine, it's the bl00dy owners!

I hope karma takes a bloody big bite of her ass

Maybe she'll end up on my old yard! That would be karmic. I realise I never updated but I left (obviously) as did most but not all of my friends. All to separate yards though, sadly. I love where I am now which I found via word of mouth. Rarely any vacancies so I got lucky. Mad old YO is still mad and has half her stables empty now and is constanty advertising. She would take slack owner, as I think she would take anyone. She'd then charge through the nose for EVERYTHING. They would totally deserve each other.
