Please can anyone help have sold saddle on preloved

And purchaser wishes to pay by paypal. I have never sold an item through paypal and just to check incase I am wrong I have given my email address to the buyer and they need to go into their paypal account and send the money to my email address just not sure how i get it out from my email address but there is also a way I can send the buyer an invoice but I think that is if you have a business. Perhaps it is all very simple to do but I am panicking as I want to get it right.
 
If you already have a paypal account you just need to log in with your e-mail address and password and there is a section that says funds received and the payment will show up there. If I remember correctly there is an option that lets you transfer it to your linked bank account.
 
I have sold a few on preloved but never through paypal, I am sure I had someone try to scam me so I wont use paypal anymore, the only saddle I ever had to post was sent by parcel force and you can pay for insurance to cover the cost of it if its lost, worked out about £22 and it got there fine, I have had a few suspect people message me about saddles, Its the way its worded I can spot them a mile off if you pm me I can send you the user names of some I have had. Better to be safe than sorry.
 
I just sold an item and was asked if I'd accept Paypal, I don't have an account but ok'd it with my OH that they'd pay into his account. I didn't realise just how much I'd be stung for in Paypal fees and then fees to get the money out of OH's account, it was a sizeable chunk, bit gutted as I sold the item because I needed (all!) the money!

I wouldn't do it again :o
 
I've never had a problem with selling via paypal, just make sure you do a tracked signed for delivery and purchaser pays for it. That way you have proof it arrived and take pictures of it prior to sending.
 
We wouldn't pay or accept anything else- with Paypal there's far more comeback if it all goes wrong. Can't afford to lose that much money.

It's really easy to set up and the. You jut follow the instructions to link it to your bank account.

There is also no come back and if the item doesn't arrive then the seller has the money and the item (if they ever send it)

No decent seller will ask someone to pay via family & friends option.

A decent buyer will offer to pay the fees in order to get the security of PayPal protection.
 
Thank you all for your help and replies ,the saddle sold and all went well with paypal and I even transferred the money from there to my bank account , getting very tekky in my old age! Ive now got someone interested in my other saddle on preloved so may have to do it all again!
 
I don't like using PayPal as the fees it imposes are extortionate. If someone is desperate to pay via it I ask for the friends and family, as it doesn't cost me anything then.

Anything such as a saddle will always be sent via signed for insured delivery
