I'm awake at this unearthly hour as I can't sleep from worry and stress,

Went to get my beautiful man from the field Seemed normal untill I noticed his leg Wire cut from hock to fetlock inside his leg,

I screamed, rushed to hospital, I thought that was the end, thankfully all tendons are ok and even though the cannon bone is exposed it isn't damaged, hock joint seem ok but had a very narrow miss,

Surgeon seems to believe he's done well to keep it from being fatal, but have a long unsurtan road ahead.

I'm completely gutted and destroyed, but for the moment he is ok I just hope he improves, possibly needs a skin graft,

I really need to sleep but I can't stop my head from spinning

:(

I have had four horses who have had Horrible injuries that have all come back to compete.

A mare who slipped on a bridge and skinned the inside of one back leg, right down to the bone.

A stallion who jumped a fence and again right up the inside of his back leg, just short of damaging his testicle.

A mare (race horse) that put a post through her chest.

A gelding that ripped open his shoulder with a big gap and skin hanging off.

Horses mend extremely well and you will be surprised how quickly too.

Ask your vet for the Silver Spray, works marvels.

Right if i have done this right here are the pictures.......

When he did it..........

hope they work

Oh no sorry to hear, that's a nasty cut! :(

my horse had a massive gash to his fetlock earlier this year, the vet said it would be horrifically scared due to the excessive granulation tissue (proud flesh) but i was determined to get a good result i used a product recommended to me by my local tack shop!

EQUIAIDE -it accelerates healing and wound closure aswell as keeping proud flesh at bay, its expensive at 60euro per 2oz pot but you dont use very much i still have loads left over after applying it every second day for 10 weeks! its really magic stuff! Even my vet was amazed at the results

I cant recommend it enough! Hope your boy has a speedy recovery!

heres a link for it, have a look at the case studies

Gosh...looks awful, cant imagine what you must of thought when you saw that and can certainly understand why you didnt get much sleep. Havent got any practical advice but am sending healthy vibes your way

Thank u everyone. I will curtainly look into all the advice. Still no sleep but vets have called to say he's happy n walking well on his leg, bandage change tomow and more info then

oh bless you both! sending massive vibes for brilliant healing. It does look ghastly but I have heard lots of stories of horses healing 100% with similar and it sounds as if your vet is quite positive. Sending very best wishes for a full and quick recovery x

Oh gosh! sending healing vibes to you both. I'm glad someone has posted a thread showing you what can be achieved with injuries like that. I've seen a few threads like that over the years but wouldn't have known where to find to show you. It really is amazing how well they can heal from something horrific.

Get better soon lad xx
