Kia jumped out of her field tonight, she ended up on the road. At some point got either hit by something or fell over on the road, then when I had reached her she took flight.

She ran to the next village on the main road, then went down a track to a farm, the car couldn't go any further so we split up, I went one way following hoof prints, seemed to run for miles, it started to get dark and I could no longer see any hoof prints. Came out at another road.

Sister had gone the other way and had come out at the same road but further along. She found her and managed to catch her. She was covered in blood and sweat and shaking like a leaf. Called dad and he came with my lorry, got her loaded and home by which point the vet had arrived.

After cleaning up the mess it seems she has a deep hole over her hock, and deep tarmac burns on both fetlocks. Vet was worried about what internal damaged she had done.

Can I please have all the vibes you can muster for this stupid stupid filly who just should have stayed where she belonged

fingers crossed she gets better soon, but at least there are lots of success stories in the vet section for bad injuries, so hopefully she will be one of them?

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Vibes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> for you and her. Any idea what caused her to jump out onto the road? I only ask as ours once did this up a four foot wall onto a road (the field was 4 feet below the road level) as a result of her being shot with an air gun pellet.

Aparently she just flipped when I turned J out over the road, she has never even called to anyone when I have moved them in the past, let alone look bothered by it. Rather than running towards the others in thier field she ran straight to the village, into someones garden, they chased her (really helpful!) and then she just went. It was like a switch flipped, she only narrowly missed cars, but think by this point someone had already hit her, although no one stopped

Good luck, I had similar when my little sj'er jumped out and was hit by a car years ago. She was okay in the end - down the line.

Fingers crossed that vet was being a normal cautious doom and gloom vet.
