Please can Sue sheep have some vibes?

Sue is a 9 year old Ryland ewe, who is the only one left of a family of three. She spends all her time with the retired coloured cob and they share a stable overnight in winter. She has a nasty case of fly strike and is having to stay in on her own at the moment

We think she will be ok, but is not very well and is not very happy at being on her own. So she would appreciate some vibes from people. Thanks
 
Hope she's feeling better very soon. I was in my local feed shop today and they were saying that this year is particularly bad for fly strike.
 
Poor girl. Strike is ghastly so I feel sorry for her and hope she recovers. Sending my vibes from across the pond.
 
Thanks all, she has another 'hot spot' that is not shifting at the moment, just done last checks for the night, she is eating and drinking, just hope that tomorrow sees the last of the little blighters!

Seriously - hope woolly jumper is well again soon. I had a rabbit once that had fly strike and it not only looks disgusting but is very distressing for the animal too. {{{hugs}}} to Sue x

. She is very fond of the horses honey treats. If as I think you were suggesting we put it on her in a culinary manner, she is 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine how tough she is, never mind the fact that the poor creature has maggots!!!!!!!!!!
 
Aaah YorksG she sounds a poppet. The lady that has just finished backing my rescued mare has a rescued sheep that escaped from a field and got hit by a car. They called the farmer and he said if she lives, you can keep her. Well, that was years ago and she's still well. Her name is Ewe-nice and she keeps an eye on all the horses at this little yard. I used to board (late) baby autumn hedgehogs for the Hedgehog Protection Society - you just had to keep them safe and pump them full of dog food and weigh them every day. Miraculously, when they reached a magic weight they could safely hibernate. The first one I boarded we called Branston Prickle (yeah, I know!) and he reached the magic weight then slept the winter away. Good plan if you ask me. We released him in the woods in the spring. I do hope Sue is ok. Here in Wales, a zillion sheep clog the mountain road I drive over to the yard every day. I was told that if you wind the window down and shout MINT SAUCE they all bugger off lol! Hug Sue for me xxx
 
Sue sheep has lots of vibes from me but please do tell me that you are not relying on tea tree oil to shift "a nasty case of flystrike".

One treatment with Crovect directly onto the little so-and-so's will get them to wriggle off her and should keep the flies from coming back.

If you don't want to invest in Crovect just for the one sheep then Frontline will kill maggots but will sting and is probably not written up for sheep. Garlic and citronella will help to keep any new flies away.

It works. I used to do it all the time. My DH used to get very embarrassed and roll his eyes at the shepherds, but it made me laugh.

Sorry to hear about Sue Sheep. i hope she gets well soon.
 
She is quite bright and lively today, still being kept in as she has a 'hot spot'. I will try a dose of front line, but have to say that I am amazed at the effectiveness of tea tree oil ( we had this in the past with a previous sheep as well) It also helps the skin to stop hardening as much and seems to promote regrowth of wool. We feed garlic to the sheep, but can't use citronella as it appears to stop me breathing:0 which is a bit of a problem. We thought we had got passed it this year, but the weather has caught us out.
