what 'Almost overbent' means?
Comment was made on my Novice dressage test sheet today.
Judge wasnt around to ask afterwards.

I dont agree that my horse was overbent at all but was puzzled by the comment as I thought a horse was either overbent or not

Also I was 'overbent' on my halt at X, I wouldnt have thought it would have been easy to see an overbent horse straight on unless very over bent, which we were not.
I maybe wrong though...

Many Thanks :D

See my siggy for overbent... And this pic (just so's you can see it can happen on a totally loose rein)

I understand what overbent is but what is almost overbent, im confused as to where 'almost' starts :D

Oops, sorry, just seen this :)

I guess 'almost' is when the horse is just starting to drop behind the vertical and is not taking up the contact. Maybe a comment on a not so steady head carriage? Dizz is the master of a non-steady head carriage, she'll go from being so far behind that she's resting her chin on her chest (and probably going to sleep lol), to so above the bit I get tips of ears up my nostrils :rolleyes:. Good job she's getting better lol :D

Actually this could make sense as my mare does fight a lot with her head and can fix with her neck at times during a test and doesnt fully accept the contact.
Thank goodness for that, I was worried for a minute that I was coinstantly overbent and I had no idea :D I dont think the judge was very good at explaining what she meant as the last comments were nice paces but overbent, i assume of which she meant some of the time not all the time which i can accept :D

Thanks peeps, self esteem restored :D
