I like him, but there is something about his sacro-iliac region that has me slightly concerned, it is very weak, almost as though it is made of loose elastic rather than tight, if that makes sense?! If you want him, I would have the most thorough vetting you can get, which could be quite good fun in Spain

really don't like the canter - sorry. Something looks off behind, he's uncoordinated and there doesn't seem to be much propulsion, y'know? Looks like he's paddling along on his front legs.

Ditto Weezy

From watching the walk carefully you can tell how he or any horse for that matter is going to go like when shifted up a gear, could just be his way of going which is sometimes the case but its rare.

theres something about his back legs...cant put my finger on it...

id want to see him ridden in a snaffle too
would you be going to try him?

hmm dont look the canter and hes bucking?
agree to get him vetted

i liked him a lot until he cantered!

however, it may just be that he is not strong enough yet to collect to that degree in canter, hence slamming the hindlegs down.

i would go and see him anyway and see if he is different in a slightly longer outline in canter.

I am in no way an expert at all, infact I know very little

but even I can see something is not quite right. In walk and trot he looks like he's steppy through short on his back legs, he is overtracking but it looks awkward and canter, well, thats really strange. Almost like he is in pain (although his face says other wise) and he is dragging his back end through, really strange. He is gorgeous though!

Gosh - I've never seen that before. He looks uncomfortable in it doesn't he?

Would def agree to a SERIOUS level of vetting - you may get a much better feel for it if you go out to see him maybe?

Good luck whatever you choose to do!

nice, but theres a hell of a lot of movement to hold together there. how long has he been broken? he looks strong and that blokes pretty big. quite possible hes still not strong enough to hold himself at that level of collection yet, not necessarily something 'wrong' with him!
lovely movement tho and nice and forward.
one thing that worries me- no canter transition upwards. have you seen him yourself?

Beautiful horse, but interesting that they edited the video so the transition from trot to canter wasn't shown. Very strange action in canter. Also, the surface sounds incredibly hard, which would worry me if a horse was worked a lot on it. Agree with others - a very thorough vetting.

he looks lovely nice. nice paces and all. just be aware he is in a double bridle and has boots on all legs.
but lovely

Sorry but why would having the four legs bandaged be a worrying sign? My horses always have 4 bandages on... this is a sales video so only natural that he has 4 white bandages!

As for the horse, I loved his walk -- really really good. Trot is also good, he has a lovely active hindleg. The canter is worrying though. If he is a good price, I would definitely go and see him and ask to see him lunged, just to see if it improves without a rider. And definitely get the most throughout vetting you can afford. Maybe it's nothing but, the way it is right now is worrying.

Haven't got time to watch the whole clip at the moment unfortunately so only watched some of the walk. Looks very unlevel behind to me.

In walk he looks quite lame in both back legs (to me anyway. May not be but just looks strange. Right one more than left I think after looking again), and drags his toes. I looked after one that dragged its toes. Turned out he need a masive op on his stiffle and both back legs, he tracked up like this one is but theres something really wrong there someewhere.

His trot is better but still looks short to me, but the walk and canter are really off puting to me. I wouldn't buy him, even with a vetting. But thats up to you. Good luck with it.

Lovely horse with a problem. Short on the near hind in walk and weak behind the saddle. Front end well developed compared to back. Took one look at the canter action and said walk away from him. Sorry to be blunt. Good luck!

Haven't read the other replies, but I have a 'thing' about backend movment (after my two horses I can't help it!).

In the walk he doesn't look right behind. In the canter it is even more noticeable. Sorry, just my opinion

. Will go read what others have put now...

Nice looking horse though.

glad its not just me that thought that-he is short stepping on the near hind??? canter is disunited-could br lack of schooling? he also looks heavy on the forehand and i wonder what would happen if the rider dropped the reins?

the way the rider is contstantly nagging at the poor thing with its spurs!

If it isnt that forward thinking, then why the need for a double bridle as well?

His canter was horrible, sometimes he almost seemed to canter with both back legs doing the same stride. he looked like a 3 leggeded horse . He did look stiff over his back, and forced into an outline with the bridle and the spurs. He didint look right all the way through the video to me. Not lame , just extreamly un co-ordinated.

He looked an honest chap though, im sure most horses would of objected to being ridden that way, with the spurs and the heavy hands on the double bridle. Almost like driving a car full throttle with the hand break on.

I agree with the above posts. However he looks like a kind horse and you would probably be able to resolve his problems with a chiropractor, maybe a new saddle, no spurs, no double bridle, and a bit of schooling! I reckon you should go and try him.

QR - Wow, massive warning bells over the canter

I wouldn't even consider him if I were you, but shall be v interested to hear what you think of him after seeing him in the flash.

Something very wrong with the canter, only saw it on the right rein, don't know whether it improves on the left - my question would be would you buy him if a) he passes with nothing raised or b) if there is concern, which I would be extremely shocked if there isn't, do you like him enough to be getting further investigations....

Personally, I think he is lovely, but I would walk away.... shame!
