Hi, as you can see I have been a member for a while but don't post much. More a lurker than anything.
Having been on numerous sites I have noticed a lot of 'bullying' in one way or another, think this is why I don't really do posts.
Why do people think this is - is it easier to bully people on the internet than face to face.
I find some sites quite intimidating and some of the posters seem quite intent on having ago at people.
I know bullying goes on all over the place, work, schools etc., but it does seem more prevelant on forums.
Anyone want to discuss ????

Trolls are very prevalent as well.

I never post to any of these discussions but personally I think bullying on forums comes with boredom.. And to keep themselves from being bored they create an argument or say something which they know somebody is going to react to. Some may call it interesting or a good laugh etc..

No-one up for a good discussion.
Knew I would be called a troll - never really sure what that means.
Just to add, I have noticed some terrible bullying on here over the last few days, but suppose everyone is bored with it now.
Roll on next year's I'm a celeb.

I do think people get bored... and also to a degree, I think the fact that everyone has 'their' opinion, and I actually don't think many people are good at tolerating other peoples opinions, or accepting that yes, there may be factors that influence decisions/opinions that online a person is unwilling to mention. This is why I quite often tend to not give heavily opinionated replies if I start a thread. I acknowledge the replies, and silently make up my mind what advice to take unless I have further questions - that way nobody can question my decision and start an argument about it! Same with giving my opinion, I prefer to give it and let people make up their mind. If they decide that my advice/crit/whatever is no good? Well, it didn't cost me much to give it. If they're happy with it, good for them :)
Bullying will happen anywhere/everywhere. Always. It's a human thing! I think people do genuinely like to see people react. Well, who likes being ignored? Not many people I know of ;) Therefore by saying/doing something that you KNOW will get a reaction.....
