I was going to donate £500 towards them by doing a collection with my donkey but sadly the thread was hijacked by the usual anti french rescue lunatic fringe which means that I will keep my money and use it towards another french rescue.
Pity but there we are. These thugs are allowed to keep knocking and insulting reasonable people who have a different viewpoint and so these same reasonable people can also decide what they do with their money. The charities that also take this view can then hardly complain that I now do not donate to any of them either on a regular basis or as a legacy when I pop my clogs. They lost even more money but never mind, it is going to another charity with a more enlightened attitude. There are penalties for being intolerant.

The BHS are certainly suffering a penalty for your intolerance! Plenty of people expressed views on that thread that were not entirely in accordance with mine, but I didn't allow that to stop me giving to the BHS. It was never a case of the people you were referring to being "allowed" to express their views. This is a public forum and, whilst I get hot under the collar about some views expressed on here, I absolutely accept everyone's right to express them.

Big Ears whilst I agree with your sentiments about the anti french stuff, that thread was deliberately hijacked because Andy and Chloe had posted personal info on it and admin refused to remove it. The concensus of opinion was that if it was hijacked in that way, Admin WOULD remove it.

Just goes to show how influenced a person can be by others doesn't it? At the end of the day, you should be able to donate where you want too, it is personal choice, so to say that the thugs views have made this impossible is ridiculous! Can you not think for yourself???

And you are showing a more enlightened and tolerant view point?
You know nothing about where Carrot and Spud have gone to be cared for so how are you able to make a judgement on whether they are more deserving or enlightened?

The BHS will be forwarding the money for the care of Carrot and Spud - it is being adminstered by them as the place of safety needs to remain anonymous for obvious reasons. So be assured they will be the final recipients of the donations.

Can I just ask, its the rspca who is taking the investigation of this case on, they normally pay for the vets fees, boarding etc in cases, is this not the case here??????

I am totally stunned by this (lack of?) reasoning. Anyway, I have made a donation and renewed my BHS Gold membership. Anything to help Carrot and Spud and other horses that need support and rescue.

So, in your own narrow minded way, you have refused to donate, and therefore deprive the charity of much need resources to continue to rescue and rehabilitate equines, in this country, who are in dire need and need urgent attention?
I'm so sad that you take this view. Do you think that the people on this forum like to see pictures of ANY horses that are suffering? Do you also think that they can't make a difference, and that only you will be able to do that?
The rights and wrongs of which charity to donate to, is not the issue here. Charity is, by definition, at your own discretion! If you do not wish to donate, that's no problem, there are people here that do care for the plight of these animals, and wish to do their bit, so that they, and others in equally appalling situations, are given a chance.
