I am having a horse vetted on Wednesday with the hope of it passing and then I can bring him home on Friday

I'm not very good at bartering for a good deal

so was wondering how much you all thought he'd be worth.

He is a 16.3hh, palomino, TB x American saddlebred who has just turned 6. He is quite a laidback chap who was professionally backed and schooled and has been hacking for the past year.
He's pretty well mannered but does have sensitive ears so does take a little longer to put the bridle on. He also has a 2 inch scar on his right hock which doesn't look all that old.
He has been happily living on his own so I know he would stay on his own although he wouldn't be on his own with our lot

So what do you think?

That sounds a fair price to me. Agree the price before the vetting and agree that you will pay that subject to the vetting. I probably wouldnt even bother to knock them down. If it passes the vet and is sound to ride then its a good price.

If it fails you walk away.

Price sounds good , but if you fancy a bit of bartering - knock about £200- £150 off the price & see how it goes . It's always worth a try - they can only say no after all !

But if the price seems fair enough to you & you don't want any hassle , then pay the asking price . Good Luck !

They are looking for £2,750 I would say. Knock them down a couple of hundred.

Sounds lovely by the way.
