Two of my friends daughters have been searching and trawling through adverts to find a couple of horses for them to event and pony club team event. Both horses would need to have some experience but not at a high level. Max age 10, max height 16.2hh, min height 15.3hh. We have 2 different price margins, one can go to 5k the other 7.5k.
Bearing in mind we are in Devon, they will travel to view but I think Wilts/Oxford area is far enough up.

So, does anyone know of anything suitable? Please PM me if you can help. Thankies

Have you tried Henryhorn, she has Layla for sale. I tried since Sept last year for horses of that criteria - they are not easy to find !

Mark Bosanko - dealer nr Paignton, has reasonaly priced horses - all imported from Holland and usually youngsters, but some have done a bit, usually showjumping though.

Here's his website, tell him that Sadie gave you his number if you should ring. Bear in mind that his facilities aren't brilliant for trying a horse though. He does has a sand arena but its very deep. It's worth a ring.

Oh - I can tell you who not to try - their initials EE or MM !

They are about - a few years ago we sold William's mum for 3.5k, she was 11 at the time I think, 15.2 but rode big, well schooled, almost unbeatable up to 1m sj classes but never reg bsja which is helpful for PCers. Good record PN, but would need riding properly round a Novice, esp. the sj. And then Betsy who I sold in January, 5k, 15.3 rising 7 mare, competed bsja, bit scatty but safe, xc schooled, ready to intro/PN, scope to go Novice. Keep looking at non-H&H ads, although having said that....

These people have been to view over 35 horses, yes they went to see Layla, loved her but she was too big

Well you might have a point but it looks an honest sort of horse and it claims to be clean and bold at pre-novice level. Also bear in mind the price. You would obviously check its results out to see if consistent etc.

Don't be put off by the lack of prices, I'm sure they are reasonable.

Well we live in South Wales i think that might be abit too far for you but i have a 5yo TB 15.3-16hh doing everything and never puts a foot wrong! excellent comformation and has jumped 4ft 6 band does open tracks with so much ease! Her dressage tests are always in the top 3 and shes thwe best i have ridden across country! in augaust when i have finished competing her i will want about 6k for her which is very reasonable!
very genuine mare and a great allrounder with a forward, safe ride.
Any enquiries just ask kk!

HH in another thread you posted a video of this mare jumping a lovely calm round. However you said it was her first show jumping round so how can you say she's doing open tracks with ease? The track in the video certainly isn't what most people would call an open class!

no, you it was her first team jumping competition. 2ft3 because my other team mates were on 12.2ponies and 13 handers so in all fairness we entered the 2ft 3 classes! Thats why we went double clear WITH EASE! we bagged the first prize and im also entered for the team jumping at pembrey in the open class so that'l b a bit more fun haha

Yep HH, but by completing one 2'3 competition, it doesnt mean the horse is jumping open classes. People expect open classes to be of a decent size.

haha, i very wel know that but if you read what i said, she is also jumping open classes its just on that team jumping i was partnered with 13hander ponies so it was only fair to enter a reasonable height! It was a one off. Understand??:)
yes, the average size for an open class down here is 3ft 3'-6 high:)
xx

What you said in the other post was

"What do you think of this round? her first sj round only turned 5 lol?"

Seems pretty clear to me!

HH is this the same horse you were posting about on the forum you got banned from??? you were trying to teach it flying changes, youd said it been out of racing 6 months but then the dates on your pics ect were a year before???

i dont think this horse has ever seen anything barring a race course

guys, this poster is a teenager, (even her age changes) BEWARE oh shes also ment to be a showing judge aswell!

Excuse me??
No this is not the one i have been talking about on the other forum...so i think you should really think about what you say before posting it...we breed and produce welsh cobs and TB's so we have mnay TB, this one hadnt been on a race course but that other one had!
So get your facts right, not that its anything to do with you. And this forum is for friendly, helpful advice so you have no right insulting me, someone you know nothing about. And i think you should be banned or warned for doing so. Thank you very much! And im not impressed, can i ask how old you are?!?!
sorry the person who made this thread! I wish you luck:)

HH please get a grip - outbursts like that are not going to make you popular on here (except for people who'll wind you up even more because they think it's funny!).

In Furby's defence I've seen your posts on another forum & there's an awful lot that doesn't tie up. You set yourself up as a showing expert but a lot of the advice you gave was wrong, the time line you told people about with your TB made no sense whatsoever & what you said she was doing was quite frankly ridiculous. I think, but wouldn't swear & can't be bothered to go and look, that you said she was your only TB?

Everyone is welcome on this forum but be advised it can be a little more direct than some other places & if you annoy some of the regulars they'll let you know in no uncertain terms. It's a great place for getting ideas from some very knowledgeable people though & as long as you're honest & can cope with the occassional sharp comment it's lots of fun
