As a general guide in life getting facts straight first is a must!

Having our own opinions and freedom of speech is good.
But before slating someone, their business or way of life surely knowing the truth is better than what you may have heard or think is true?

This post is also in reference to a thread from last year that has been resurrected.

Very well said :) xx

I do believe this may be concerning myself and my business, thank you blucanoo! I do wonder sometimes why people feel the need to make judgment about things they have no experiance of! I will take this opportunity to invite ANYONE who would like to know a little more about my yard and zebras! to contact me and come and visit. I have nothing to hide and as the advert on tv says, perhaps you have a whole lot to gain! Once again Massive Thank You Blucanoo. x

OK, worked out which thread you are on about, but can't see that it has been posted on since last march!! There is a thread with the same title that cropped back up yesterday, but it is a totally different thread as far as i can see.

Unless individuals have been to the yard recently then it is not fair or appropriate to comment.
I have been there recently and the ample facilities as well as selfless help & support offered daily deserves some rather positive recognition in my book.......

Mcnaugthy, the point is as rachb said it is unfair to comment on things when people don't have first hand experience. People have been rude and unfair about someone and their business without knowing or having real facts. It's simple, don't talk "c**p" when you say something please ensure it is fact.

Agree - it happens a lot on this board and not just in the post that was being referred to. Shouting very loudly does not make your opinion an actual fact!!

I think that McNaughty's point is that this is supposed to be a discussion forum - how are we supposed to discuss something when we do not know what the subject is?

Wouldn't it be better to just PM your friends?

Please allow me to fill those of you whom are confused in. A while ago there was a thread made on here asking if anyone had heard of my yard. I own and run a Full Livery yard just outside of Bristol. I also keep Zebras here! On that thread several people chose to give their opinion about me, and my business. Some of these people had never met me and some were giving opinions that they had "heard" and there was a link put on also, that led to some really damming comments about my yard, all of which where untrue. Someone also commented on my zebras from what they had seen on a T.V programme about me. I have invited all of the people that felt the need to add an uneducated comment to come to my yard and have a look around, but as of yet none of them have taken me up on the offer. As with most people who are passionate about their business, I continue to improve it all the time and am more than happy for people to come here and judge it for themselves. I have 4 livery owners whom have been with me for over 10 years. As with all walks of life not every situation suits every person, but it is unfair and even slanderous to make comments about others that are untrue or unfounded.
What Blucanoo has said is very true and very fair, and I thank them very much for their support in that matter, and I hope those of you who did not understand now do.

Happy New Year to you all.

Then surely you can slam them with slander and libel if they are bad-mouthing you and it's that bad?

I certainly wouldn't take it sitting down, AND I certainly wouldn't be here thinking I had to explain myself.

This is a public forum and I'm afraid the fact that you are indeed running a business will go over some peoples heads....they won't care, simple as that.

These 'cryptic' posts crop up from time to time, and leave the odd poster banging their heads against the wall wondering what the hell is going on, then when only bits of info are fed to them, they may assume 2+2=35, and then the trouble starts...

Best to say nothing at all really, and leave real-life away from a virtual world where some people get their kicks out of thinking they are upsetting others.

DragonSlayer, I do agree with you, however some genuine people ask for real help on forums like this and if affects peoples business it is unfair! and don't worry, I took good legal advice!!! and action!
It is just nice when people support others and now you all know what it is about I hope you all will too.

Good! I hoped you kicked their arses.....!

i agree that people need to get there facts straight! i think it may have been my thread asking about tizers yard! luckily i didn't take notice of some of the comments and went to have a look any way. i was impressed with the yard and the level of care etc and mostly by the dedication of tizer to the horses and the zebs!!!
this is the one reason i don't post on here very often as people are so quick to judge and condem!!
