Please Help- Best Fly Rug???

I've been through a few fly rugs now,my mare goes through 1 every summer as she rubs badly although hasn't got sweet itch.She's black and the flys seem to lover her soooo much,last year she couldn't handle it anymore and ran herself in to a tree

It's like she goes demented,anyway i always put her full fly mask on and a rug that has a belly flap to as thats where they get her the most,she never comes up in any bumps she just hates the feeling of flys on her.So far i have had a Weatherbeeta one that slipped and the belly flap was too big so the flies got underneath-even worse than not having any rug on.I had another one but can't remember the name?

That ripped at the bum where she rubbed as the material was too thin,so any ideas??
I've always liked the look of the Rambo ones but i'm not sure if they have a belly flap,need one that doesn't slip too and is hard wearing,does one exist??

If she isnt a sweetitch sufferer do you know why she is rubbing so much?

Personally Id get her a Boett rug and fence off anything she can rub on.

He wore his 24/7 for months (damn sweetitch

) and its not even got any pulls or rips in it, and he is tough on his rugs!

My coloured horse is allergic to flies and the suns rays! he wore a rambo protector all of last summer 24/7 and it was great! highly recommend! he is out in it agin now during the day and the flies are not effecting him

ASBO horse hates flies (will run around the field for hours or run around an stick her head in the hedge of theres one avaliable). I bought her a Derby House one last year (one form the back of the caalogue) it had a big tail flap, belly cover and it went right up her neck and over the top of her head, there were holes in it for her ears to go through so it din't slip back, and it was brilliant. She wore it a hell of alot last spring and summer and it didn't rub and it was hard wearing, a go trough the wash and it would have looked new. Sadly I've stupidly misplaced all of my fly rugs but I'll buy buying a couple of the DH ones again this year

premier equine's is very good - my mare wore it 27/7 pretty much last summer as she is allergic to fly bites and it wore really well and never moved.

supposedly she's been like this since before i got her,so i don't think it's her food.I've always thought black horses suffer in the summer more anyway, as you'd think.She's a Welsh D and in winter she thrives in the cold,i just don't think she does summer at all well,she is constantly sweating even when she's not doing anything.

The food you eat can greatly affect the way you are affected by insects. If you feed your horse sugary food, such as mollasses the sugar is constantly coming out through her in pores, similar to the way in which if we have a curry/alcohol we can smell it on our skin.
