Does anyone know of any equine rehabilitation yards in Staffordshire or Shropshire please? I need to find somewhere quite urgently.

I could possibly travel just in to Derbyshire, Cheshire and the West Midlands but the closer to home the better.

All suggestions very gratefully received

Rehab from what? If you are looking for grass keep and low stress I have a vacancy (Market Drayton area) depends on what if any ongoing treatment is needed?

If you could provide a little more info that would help...my friend works closely with our local equine clinic and takes in lots of rehab cases. She's Cheshire based about 30min from Stoke on Trent.

I'm not sure what she'll need really.

She was slightly lame on a circle on Saturday, went in to the vets today and has had been diagnosed with massive bone growths in both front legs which are causing a lot of damage to her collateral ligament. Her suspensory ligament is also swollen.

She's had steroid injections and is on box rest for 12 days before going back to the vets for an mri scan.

I wouldn't be looking to move and uproote her (especially now) but the girl who she's on livery with is moving yards (to one that is too far away for me to travel to).

I'm abroad on holiday at the moment, I fly home on Monday so that makes it even harder to be given news like this. I just want to be at home.

She hasn't been lame in the slightest for over three years so this is such a shock.

I just need to know what options there are out there and who could help me with her care. She's a very 'busy' mare so I need someone who understand horses that don't cope very well with rest and no work to occupy their mind!

Hi

We offer specialist rehabilitation livery. We are west midlands based, junction 2 of the M6 and would be delighted to help.

Our facilities can be seen on our website www.furlongsequestrian.co.uk

Our price is £100 per week.

hope we can help and best of luck with everything xx

Not ideal but you mentioned you would travel to west mids. Cheryl buck in Kidderminster is very good for rehab and has horse swimming lanes which I'm told are very beneficial. Can research her she's at Berkley farm.
