Please help !!

I know its a low budget but dont expect the finished article just something to bring on steadily

😔😔

I think an ex racer is your best bet for your budget :) have a look at solway racehorses they have had a few recently that i have really liked, I'd have been tempted if my yard wasnt full!
nothing that is a youngster that is talented will be in your budget sadly or you could take a gamble on something that is a bit older but hasn't done much. Depends on what you want to do, do you want to produce & sell or produce & keep or just have some fun?

Just to bring on and have some fun low level BE but don't want an older horse .... have looked at Solway but never saw anything I liked.... or the right height age etc not expecting much really just something that is sound enough decent confirmation and trainable attitude doesn't have to be hugely talented as tbf most horses should cope at 90 100 but just something to have some fun on obviously don't want a major vet bill (just had one of those sadly) any tips for exracers and what I should be looking at ..... have been browsing done deal which seems to have a few hidden diamonds at a decent price but would it cost a fortune to have it transported ?? who would have thought horse shopping could be so stressful lol :)

Yeh your right anything should be able to jump round a 90, most a 100 but it depends how competitive you want to be :)

Contact local racing stables they often have some gems. Totally with you there whether you spend 2k or 20k you don't want to buy a problem !

There are some hidden gems on done deal for sure but of course if you are buying something already broken unless you fly over & try a few you won't know if you get on with it or not. I used a fantastic transporter to get my 3 year old over. He was 300 to the north east of England which is a bit more than most, some are only 250 but he was fantastic & my mare arrived very happy :)

£2500 will get you €3500 nowadays. Even if you spend €400 on transport you have a very very good budget for horse shopping in Ireland!

Agree with Kacey, you'll get a smasher here for that money. Transport to the center of the UK is €250 I believe, if you're further away then it's more. Best place to look is done deal. If you see something you like ask for videos and take it from there. Suss the person out to see are they genuine and not a dealer.

It might be worth finding out if Philip Kirby has anything coming out of training. His wife Pippa deals with a lot of the rehoming. We have one out of their yard and they are very honest when describing the horses. Their main concern is a lovely home and they like to keep in touch with their old horses.
Have a look on the Philip Kirby Racing website, if there are none on there it may be with giving them a call.

Well below budget so worth having sent away for a few weeks to be professionally started and then carry on her education.
Have to find out what crossed with but my Spanish x filly was a fab mover and had an excellent pop in her and she was crossed with a quarter horse lol wasn't what I was expecting but was one of the toughest hardiest creatures I ever owned

Thanks everyone ... Have contacted lynne ward she is quite close ... Have looked on done deal and im tempted to go for a visit and maybe view a few in ireland i thought it would have been more expensive for transportation so it might be worth a visit .... Just having a look at the links now

Thank you

Thanks for this going to contact them

You could always try www.horses4homes.co.uk they are a charity that help people who want or need to rehome their horses for various reasons, lots of ex racers on there. All they ask is a donation price to the charity which the owner chooses but its never near your budget! Plus you get the bonus of giving money to charity and you get a horse out of it!

Might be worth a try!

Lynne is great! I liveried with her for a while. She was great & really changed my mind on ex racers! Has some gorgeous 1s :)
