Probably because he is 15 puts people off, and also the fact that I only have a flat field to show him off. So Im thinking of putting him at a different livery where there is a manege so I can show him off better. OR im thinking of giving him to a successful person who can sell him for me, although I dont really want to do this because I would like to meet the people myself as obviosuly I will know him more than a complete stranger so can answer questions etc better and tell them how he likes to be ridden etc, and it will cost the earth! First time selling a horse and Im leaving on 20th Sept so things are getting a bit scary now as I need to sell him. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, also do any of you now of any liveries within a half hour radius of Colyton? (Its near honiton/sidmouth) That preferably has an indoor school so the rain wont be an issue. Thankyou, im a bit flustered as you can probably tell, I never thought it would be this stressful!!

The only place I know is Heazle EC or Stookes Farm which is a bit further in Wiveliscombe (have kept horses there). Sorry, I don't know anywhere else with indoor school. I hope you sell soon.

Is it one of the horses in your sig?

Yeh, heazle is a fair way from us

I bought my pony without riding in a school and just tried him on the flat field and over a home made jump and then took him for a hack!

If people are calling and then deciding not to come because you do not have an arena to try him then perhaps you could hire an arena near by to take them to but to avoid timewasters perhaps you could do it on the 2nd viewing.

To be realistic a 15 year old horse is considered an old horse as far as most purchasers go so your horse will not be as easy to sell as a younger horse.

In addition because there are so many people selling horses at the moment because people are off to university and college the market is swamped with horses.

I would try the Pony Club web site or local pony club as this may well find you a purchaser and also put up cards with a picture of your horse in the local tack shops and feed merchants. Have a word with local farriers and instructors as well.

Dont know what he is like to ride and may not be suitable but have you tried PC sites? Just looks like one of those who would appeal to juniors going onto horses. It is the one place where i think his age would not be against him.

I have just purchased a 14yr old 15.1 for my daughter who is coming off ponies. I wanted something with a bit more mileage to show her the ropes. Definately try the PC website if he is suitable for a teenager coming off ponies or ring your DC to see if she knows anyone in the area.
