Borris the Spider is a pedigree black shar pei with a black tongue
He got out of his owner's back garden 3rd June. His owner reported him missing 24hrs later to the Council, Microchip company and more.
Borris was then found the same day and took to the kennels directly due to out of hours services.
The kennels then did not find his microchip and kept him in their kennels for 14 days. And then rehomed him.
Within the next few days of the family having him they took him to be CHIPPED, but one already showed up, they then contacted the owners and told them he had just been to their vets. The vets should've siezed the dog, instead they allowed the family to change the Microchip details, the owner is very upset and looking for Borris now known as Bailey.
Bailey is located somewhere in Accrington, Lancashire.

Please join the Facebook group and share/spread the word. His family are bereft. :( I'm appalled that this has happened. Heartbreaking.
 
Fecking hell, how has that been allowed? absolutely makes a mockery of microchipping. i hope they get their dog back.

Shame on the vets.
 
This happened to me when my dogs were stolen; the last one to get home rotted for a month in a Tunbridge Wells Pound/kennel..it was`nt untll she was about to be sold for £70 and the new "owner" noticed the clear tattoo in her (WHITE) ear at handing over time.The Kennel then contacted the NDTR ,and we rushed over to collect her. They had the bald faced cheek to CHARGE us £250 boarding if you please!! Disgusting.
How diligent they were NOT to even check ears for mites/ID ..and as for the bloody Dog Warden..what was his excuse?We ID our animals for a reason.:mad:
 
Unless the microchip had migrated which would explain why it wasnt found its a pretty damning instance of the pros getting it terribley wrong.

Two families and two lots of heartache that need not have happened it appalling and makes a mockery of the whole thing.
 
Why did the company allow the microchip details to be amended when they had been told that the dog was missing.
OK maybe the chip migrated and that's why it wasn't initially pick up, but the vet that found the chip and the chip company that allowed the details to be changed don't have an excuse.
When the chip details are changed do the company not have the details of the 'new owner' that the police could use.
Makes you wonder if the 'new owners' actually know anything about this?

I took it to mean that they had noticed but hoped he'd come home of his own accord? I would report it straight away, if it was mine though.

I do hope they get it straightened out, must be heartbreaking for both families.

Our dogs go missing hunting quite a bit :o and we now leave it 36/48 hrs as the wardens are sick of hearing from me!
 
oh splendid! the passport systems dont work and now the micro chip ones are going the same way! but they do love to charge you! hope your friend gets her dog back! otherwise the whole microchipping system stinks!
