My mare who has just turned 5 was working beautifully and everyday there was huge progress. I had a couple of lessons which were going really great and my instructor advised I get her back checked (because she could see some tightness - Nothing major). I got the McTimoney out to look at her. Her Pelvis was out which he did exercises to correct and some misalignment in her spine which he manipulated. She worked well - better than ever - for 2 days and then reared in the school followed by bronching (totally out of girlies character). I rode again the next day and she was a little reluctant to come round but nothing drastic. I then lunged for 2 days and McTimoney came back to do follow up and more treatment. I gave her a week off after that due to her Sub-mandibular lymph node flaring up (vet tells me its common at her age). Okay - this is what it all boils down to....
Friday I rode for the first time in over a week, lunged for 15 mins first and got on, very good girl but then I asked for trot and she was trying her hardest to skip me off my correct diagonal (worse on the right rein) then when I asked for canter, ears back and bronched like a good en'! Totally out of character and was really stuffy. Next day, rode again, still stuffy and reluctant but no bronching- still skipping me off diagonal though. Yesterday - rode for 10 mins in walk and trot only but still no change.
What shall I do? Shall I get the vet? I am really close to Liphook Equine hospital - Do I go there? Any advice will be gratefull received.
Massive bag of jelly babies for anyone who has made it here
very much appreciated x
