I am really struggling to find a suitable bedding for my mare in the winter.
The new yard I have moved to doesn't allow shavings as the farmer that collects the muck won't take it.
She is very, very wet and messy in the stable, And also loves to eat any bedding that is remotely edible, even if treated to make it taste nasty.
Any recommendations on something absorbent?

I have recently changed to cardboard, and states it is compostable, so maybe more acceptable to a farmer?

I use FAB and it is very econimcal (bought bulk for less than £5 a bale), absorbent and totally dust free.

I absolutely LOATHE woodpellets. They're too much of a faff, they don't make a proper bed, and they're a pain to muck out.

If you want absorbant, go for paper. My old boy is on paper, and if my liveries would let me, everything would be. It makes a lovely bed, isn't too expensive, is easy to muck out, and very absorbant.
