Hello all... Haven't been on for a while what with new baby Jack ( now nearly 11 weeks - can't believe it ) and mares and foals all over the place etc and now mum mum's poor little coblet has nearly ripped his leg off in the field ( but thats a whole other post! )

I have just helped my friend sell her horse that just wasn't suited, and now she is looking for a new one... I have been checking horsemart, horse and hound, horsequest etc daily but have found nearly nothing that seems quite right. I have quite a few dealer friends but she would prefer to buy something that we will know the history on - through a friend of a friend of a friend ect....

We are looking for....

* 15h - 15.3
* 6ish - 11ish
* gelding preferred but not essential
* allrounder type that daughter could jump round british novices and amature classes
* bombproof hack ( don't mind a bit spooky as long as it's safe )
* reasonably well schooled ( or something that can at least work correctly and canter on the right leg- you'd be amazed how many cant!! )
*something with a bit of spark about it - something that you can hold a little rather than have to kick.
* middle wieght ish ISH, WB, overgrown Connie etc - no cobs ( she's npt keen ) and rather not have very fine TB
* up to about £4800 tack included would be amazing.

If anyone knows of anything, please let me know...

Thanks in advance,

xxx

Since I'm poorly sick ill and stuck by the computer with a bog roll at hand!!!! I'll have a look for you!! There could be something at our yard although she falls short of your criteria in a couple of area, as in it's full tb!!! and only 4 years old!! BUT bear with me!! Is hacked out by a 70+ year old!! and is as genuine as they come!! She's only just started her schooling, (was raced but not fast enough, no injury) but has proven to have quite a pop in her when they first started jumps!! She's not actually for sale yet, but if someone was interested they may consider it, as long term she will be up for sale I believe.

Anyway I'll search the net!!!

Indi...theres a link for the photos on the advert.
I used to jump him for the owner as he wasnt being ridden, he's a super safe horse with really low mileage and needs someone to go out and compete him. He is such a sweet boy.

Is this too cobby?

ihatework, how big is that coloured??? Any chance of some more details? I'm looking for something pretty similar to the OP but ideally 16hhish. I'm in the midlands.

He is full up 15hh, takes leg well, rider in that pic is about 5'7"
His advert is on horsequest

I personally havent used them but seen to get good reviews/feedback.

They always have a variety of horses in, many similar to what you are looking for. :)

please dont use this dealer- pm me for details I know few people that have bought from him and there has only been one horse that has turned out okay, I cant really say much more but please dont use him.

WOw... Thanks for all the replies... Going to start making some phone calls, the coloured is lovely but probably a bit too cobby for what they want... We wont go to dealers generally - I know quite a few, and allthough they have some lovely horses sometimes, she'd prefer something we can know the history of...

Thanks again to all, will let you know how we get on .

Ah too small sorry. I'm 5'8" which would be fine, but I'm planning to share with DH and he is 6'2" with long legs, so we really need something about 16hh minimum for him to be comfortable and not look odd. He sometimes rides a 15.1hh cob and there is no way he could ride anything smaller.

Thanks though, and hope you find a buyer soon!
