not long enough ago for a joint injection to be wearing off if that was the case then.. unless the injection was nerve blocking rather than treatment.

I think that essentially as he stands he isn't going to be any good for the new rider lined up anyway.

I think that you could drive yourself mad trying to figure out what is wrong where with him, poor sausage. I would imagine that he has more than the one issue going on so pinpointing anything would be impossible.

If the owner wants him working then walk in hand on straight lines would be the most I would be inclined to do with him.

Would the owner be willing for you to look at vet reports?

Usually following treatment for spavins they are on walking exercise in straight lines, no lunging for some time. While having treatment and recovering physio is helpful as they will have been moving incorrectly for some time and developing muscle in the wrong places.

I had a pony come to my yard a few years ago that moved in a similar way, he was in a badly fitted saddle and very sore through his back, poll and neck, several treatments, a different saddle and he was like a new pony.

its hard to tell as the videos are a bit jerky/grainy, bu he looked like he wasn't tracking up behind, more noticably on his near hind.

i would check his stifle, as he looked a bit stiff there?
