Hello,

I am looking for a little bit of saddle pricing help please. We have a Balance saddle to sell and I really have no clue about these things. I was just wondering what you think the minimum price we should aim for should be?

It is a 4X width and 17 1/2 inch. The details on it just say by Springtree and Made in England, Flexible Points. It also says The Society of Master Saddlers with a code which I think says '000' but it could be 'C00', it is worn on that bit.

Any help would be appreciated. The saddle is in really good condition, just the colour of the leather is a bit worn here and there and some of the smaller print is worn down. I just don't want to list it for some wacky price to find out it was worth much more!

Many thanks and cookies to anybody reading.

Sorry I don't even know what a balance saddle is? Is that a make or design?

The only thing I can suggest is to call up www.saddlesdirect.co.uk and see whether they would be a) interested in buying from you to sell on their site or b) they could offer some adive on how much to sell it for, for you to sell it privately on their site.

You could of course google the model and see what comes up as selling prices alos.

Sorry i don't know what you could price it at really but i do think that after looking at a few for my friend they hold their price pretty well

Balance is a 'system' I think used on many saddles, most or all made by Frank Baines Saddlery (again... I think!). This one is a General Purpose/ Jump saddle but I can't tell exactly which model from looking at their website.

I will keep an eye out on Ebay and Saddles Direct, I just thought I'd ask the opinions of some people that know better than me. Thanks russoheidi.

I sold one that I had (sounds very similar to yours although I think mine was between 7 and 10 years old) and I got 500 quid for it on ebay.

And don't waste 50 quid putting it on the Balance website, I did and it didn't sell, shoved it on ebay and had loads of interest. For some reason the older style ones are v. popular as they're meant to be more comfortable than the new ones. I don't know, I hated the one I had!
