In august just before bank holiday weekend i looked at a yard with view to moving 2 horses as not allowed winter turnout where they currently, I had a look round and agreed to rent 2 stables and a static caravan for a set amount.
I then went away for the weekend and had no signal for phone and got back to find message to say they had rented the 2 empty stables to someone else.
They then agreed to get me 2 stables and i said I would give them a deposit on the condition that it was all ready for end of september as horses had to be in at night.
In the last full week of september I took the horses things up as was on duty at work on last weekend and wouldnt be able to get there and was told that the stables were arriving on the 1st october and said for 1 night they could stay out if needed but no longer.
On thursday 1st october I took 1 horse up and dropped her off to go and get the other horse, 3 hours later he still wouldnt load so let yard know that would try again the next day. When I had unloaded mare I was told that stables would be another 10 days to 2 weeks, there wasnt even any concrete on the ground.
While at work the next day I got a phone call to say my mare was very stressed and was galloping about as she had been left on her own as others had been brought in for farrier. I finished at work early so could try to load naughty horse again end even with sedation and lunge lines and 3 hours still couldnt get horse to load. So we abandoned and walked horse to friends field and left him there. On friday morning I went and collected 1 very stressed mare who is infoal and put her with the other horse, which is only on loan. I said I would let them know what was going to happen when spoken to loan horses owner re loading issues as caravan wasnt evenready to be lived in I couldnt even have a wash and as it was my boyfriends birthday that weekend he had planned to come down for the weekend, as it wasnt ready I drove up to durham instead.
While up there i was offered a job close to my boyfriend which I have taken, during the weekend I heard from loan horses owner who a, doesnt want him to go up to durham and b, I cant have a horse that i cant load so his owner is coming to collect it this week.
I explained to the people that due to there being no stables and no suitable accommodation for me that we wouldnt be coming and that I was now also moving up north and that they could keep the deposit and i would give them a weeks livery for the 2 nights that my mare was there, I then turned up with my trailer to collect all my horses belongings ( approx £2000 worth) to be told that i owed them a whole months rent and that they had taken my things and I wasnt having them back! I think this is classed as theft considering i hadnt even moved in and only had 1 horse there for 1 day and 2 nights, and some of the rugs didnt belong to me and were the loan horses things.
I have rung a solicitor who is ringing me back and rang the police but because it is on the welsh/english border the welsh police would help but its 2 miles out of their duristiction and west mercia police arent interested as they say its a civil matter, they have told me to ring the county council as they may be able to help me as its possible that there isnt any planning permission for a caravan or more stables.
Does anyone have any ides?
