Please help these horses!!!!

That's absolutely vile. Do you know what the RSPCA actually did or said, as the only information available on the post is that the 'RSPCA were useless'?

No I don't - but somebody has now shared on the RSPCA FB page so we can but hope .... I can't believe the poor horses would not have been removed immediately ... surely it shouldn't be left to a well meaning member of the public to ensure that they at least had water??

They should ring whw the rspca are useless, poor horses someone needs to get them out of there quick or I think a few more will be found dead:(

Ah but if they had water when the RSPCA arrived they will not take them as they have grass, therefore food and water...

If you ever intervene like this, allow the horses to drink or eat, then remove any recepticals you have provided before the RSPCA arrive because, to put it politely, are a complete shower of *****s and a waste of space.

They find any excuse not to act.

The RSPCA had Carrot & Spud under surveillance and they allowed them to get that thin with members of the public reporting the animals...

I agree that WHW should always be the first stop. Situations like this add weight to the argument that new animal welfare legislation is not working. Why oh why do people continue to breed horses when we there are so many no one wants. I grieve for our rare breeds, where we need to breed MORE.

The sanctuary Horse Sense Wirral (Herbert Pirie commenting on the facebook post you've linked to) are on it - just a note that sometimes these small independent sanctuaries like Horse Sense Wirral are a good bet because they are sometimes able to intervene by negotiating with owners, where groups like the RSPCA/WHW are not able to do so.

n.b., those sorts of sanctuaries rely completely on public funding and are usually really stretched for volunteers, so a good way to help is either to donate or spend a few hours a week volunteering your time.....I know I always used to think only about donating money to 'big name' charities, but these sorts of people really need it too!
