Depends on how far you are moving!
Which transport company you are using as well. Having a friend who is a transporter who transported a 49 year old pony recently then this would be the advice
travel with his friends
the transporter should make up a 'foal box' all partitions removed for your old chap so he can chose which way to face
definately up the bute 24 hours before and continue the next 24 and wean down over a couple of days
