I share a horse and the girl who owns the horse treats me like crap, makes up illness so that I wont ride and all the other girls at the farm say he doesnt have these illness and this mornin I really looked forward to riding because i havent all week and she texted me sayin the horse has got out, ate all the other horses food, saying its my fault and now she has to spend her day down at the farm when she was meant to be xmas shopping! And i locked his stable! Sorry for the no fullstops but I think that I might just have weekly lessons at a riding school I've been before which is really good and wait till spring to get another share? Or would you stay with her?

Hot chocolate for anyone who got this far

??

i always say if you're not happy with things then change them. horse riding should be a pleasure, not something that makes you unhappy. i'd go with your lessons and wait until spring and try again.

The horse may be unwell today if he helped himself to eveyrone's feeds, however the main thing is that it doesn't sound like its working out between you and the owner.

Quite a few people are desperate for sharers, so it might be worth looking around for a better fit.

do you have anything written down contract wise ? If so you should honour what notice of termination of contract.
If nothing in writing tell her the arrangement isn't working and that you will no longer be sharing her as from today.
No other explanation required really. You could tell she is a miserable old bag and that she only wants your money - I presume you were paying something but sometimes its better not to say anything and chalk it up to experience.

ets How is it your fault the horse got out and ate eveyones elses feed ?

I have no written down contract so I will have to just tell her that its not working, thanks a bunch, ive just rang up riding school and I'm goin later on! :grin .

I thought the whole point of having a sharer was to share the work and exercise of a horse!! Sounds like she doesn't understand this. A girl at our yard shares her horse and she absolutely hates the other girl riding her horse, but needs the money. Quite an awkward situation to be in really. Are you in a position to take a horse on full loan? That may be your best bet to save any animosity!!!

To be honest I would say what Digger123 said, but don't feel bad, I get the impression she may be treating you like this purposely so you give the horse up! Go to the RS, have a good time and lesson, and keep your eye open for a more suitable share situation xx

Remember, the owner obviously needs a sharer or she wouldn't be doing it. Who does she think she is treating you like that. Tell her where to go and enjoy the riding school. Hope something nice comes up for you in the spring.
