Chester is usually a really good doer but this year he's already loosing weight and condition.
He's fed on Fast Fibre and Top Chop Lite, with magnitude.
He also has hay. He's turned out for approx 8 hours a day.

He can't have any cereals or mollasses as they instantly heat him up.

Oh and he's a 16.2hh 9 year old TB.

If he's usually a good doer, what's changed? Check for worms? What's the quality of the hay like? Is he getting enough hay? Is there any grass in the turnout?

I'd do what 'slightley foxed' said and also I would ring around to some of the feed companies, dengie ect and ask them what they'd advise. The are all very helpful. I have a 8yrold tb mare she's always been usless over the winter and I chatted to quite a few companies over what they'd recommend, and ended up settling with rowen and barbury and there ready mash range. But I got a lot of useful information and help from all the feed companies so it's worth giving them a ring :-D
