iv just lost my dad and my job..my horse is having to be sold because i have no money to pay for him and the YO wants him off by the weekend so as you can imagine im well and truley minutes away from a complete break down :(

i really need help..hes not selling does anyone know of any places in the wirral that may be able to take him? i really need him gone but hes my baby so want a sanctuary or somewhere for him..please help! :(

I genuinely have no idea but I didn't want to click in and then say nothing as you are having a truly rotten time of it. I do hope you manage to get something sorted.

I'm so sorry big hugs. The only places I know are in lancashire ish. Lancaster equine rescue, penny farm Ilph in blackpool, happa in burnley personally the Ilph and happa would be my choice I have seen the way they treat their horses and It's very well ! Maybe you could call them and see if they could care for him until you get sorted ? Anything is worth a try if hes your baby ? :-) hope this helps a bit

Could someone loan him or full time share for a while until you get back on your feet?

Life sometimes dishes out one kick in the teeth after another. I'm so, so sorry about your dad, your job and now your horse. I wish I could help more.

I'm sorry I can't help either but didn't want to go without saying I'm so sorry for your loss and hope that you can find a home for your horse. Have you tried local Facebook groups? Is there anyone who would help you out until he sells? Xxx

Another who read your post and didn't want to go without wishing you luck, it sounds like your having a bad time.

Why don't you tell us a bit more about your horse in case someone here knows someone?

As above though, loaning could be a good solution to get you over this difficult time?

OP - Could you loan him? give yourself a chance to get sorted until you can get him ready to sell? or offer him as LWVTB perhaps?

Can you tell us something about him. I did see a college asking for loans earlier today. That might take the pressure off a bit.

Could you give us a bit more info on him? I can put details on our pony club FB page and see if anyone can help. We are in North Wales.

hes a 16.2hh ex racer chesnut gelding. cant jump but his dressage is impecible he has an old tendon injury which he got whilst racing but had no bother with it..hes good for farrier vet and dentist load catch and box hes brill just heartbreaking that he needs to go :(

I am so sorry about your dad, it is a terrible time for you without the worry of this.

Is it the new yard you moved that is wanting your horse off? What is happening with the yearling, are they allowing her to stay?

If I remember correctly your horse is an ex racer, is it worth trying any of the ex racer rehabs to see if they have anyone on their books that may be interested. Can you explain to your YO that you need more time, I cannot believe anyone could be so harsh as to put this pressure on someone that is grieving.

Please don't panic, if you can't organise something for your horse then he will have to stay put until you can sort something, is the YO willing to help you?

my yealing has gone to a friend who was going to buy her but then couldnt get the money together in time so shes happy its jsut because some people look at ex racers and tbs and think they are all nutters they are the hardest breed to sell

Very sorry to hear things are so difficult for you at the moment, I second the local facebook groups, there may be someone wanting a loan on there, or would he be suitable for a riding school? What is he like? Best of luck xx

There was a request on Facebook from a fantastic Equestrian Centre near me that wanted horses on loan. Its basically a very high quality riding school where the horses are treated like royalty and not over worked. I have ridden there as a client and taught there as an instructor, and would happily send mine there if I was in your situation.. Pm me if you would like any more info. Its Lancs/Manchester area..

Really sorry you are in such a horrid position. Could you find yourself a sharer or else just find a cheap field to rent and turn him away? Take his shoes off and let him have a summer in a field. Shouldn't cost you much and will take the pressure off and a lot can change in a few months. Also I would be wary of doing anything too permanent when you are in such a state of shock. You are in no position to be making life changing decisions. Good luck x

Really am sorry :( I was in a similar situation a couple of years back and was helped by a lovely local lady. Wish I had the room, I would have taken him for you until you got back on your feet. I have put it our FB page, hopefully something will come from that, or you find him a home elsewhere x

What about the girl in Rochdale earlier who needed something urgently to keep her horse company after she lost his companion/

Off to look for the post.

Just another who couldn't leave without saying anything, I'm so sorry you're having such a horrible time and really hope you can sort something for your boy. Loads of suggestions on this thread which may be worth a try, please keep us updated - best of luck xx
