please just watch this

I still don't understand why this girl is so disliked, the video isn't that bad, she is only young, is it because you are jealous of her youth :)

I don't enjoy seeing any rider overface horses that aren't ready to do what they want to do with them. And one who publicises herself repeatedly hitting the dirt while doing it doubles my dislike. I don't dislike HER, I don't know her. But I very much dislike what she is doing in that video.

errrm I quickly started to hear blah blah blah, blah blah, woe, blah blah, woe, blah blah blah woe.
Was that about right?

Silly girl: nothing clever about that. She should go and learn from an experienced trainer, and stop falling off.

This. The horses seem very overfaced and even when she 'succeeds' they don't look that comfortable

Don't know how to do another quote within the same post. Not that techy but motherofchickens post made me giggle.

I went and had a look at her webpage. Its actually quite a sweet story. Shes very open about having made lots of mistakes along the way.

Why don't people just go and ask an experienced trainer? That way you don't have to inflict your "mistakes" on untrained horses. Out of any combination of horse and rider, at least one of the two should know more than the other. Old horses (trained) for young riders: old riders (trained) for young horses, this is the best formula for kind and stress-free progress.

Lol angsty types like her give teenage riders a bad name, honestly we aren't all melodramatic types like the girl in the video...i've watched some of her stuff and she seems to just keep on repeating how she's not going to give up on her difficult horses and doing dramatic stuff. But personally if MY horse was rearing up, refusing etc. like some of hers I'd be seriously concerned to keep riding it. They don't behave like that for no reason, either a) it's batshit insane, b) in agony, or c) the rider's crap.

Just my two cents, anyway.

Yes those event riders should do that too, they also keep falling off, and the jockeys in the Grand National.

Sarky. They don't fall off as much as she apparently does, they don't moan about it, and they don't fall off for the same reasons either. She's a silly girl who could be a much better rider and help her horses rather than get them in trouble, if she bothered to learn how to do so.

She did. She went to an equestrian sports college on a scholarship, then worked in Germany at Stall Luther until she became really ill and nearly died so had to come home. She had schoolmasters more than once as well.

I just didn't really get it. I don't think this over romanticising with horses and your 'journey' with them is particularly helpful. And as much as I know that a lot of teenagers with an overload of emotion pilling in suddenly from all angles will naturally feel a lot like this, I don't think social media does them any favours by overindulging it (in this girl or those who watch her videos).

I really hope that if this girl does want to have a career as a rider she has someone around who cares enough to stop her posting videos of shocking riding on unhappy looking horses. I'm all for people expressing themselves but I can't see videos like this doing her many favours in the long run.

In that case I don't understand the question and neither, it seems, do you! How peculiar :o

I was just asking if people might be jealous of her youth, it wasn't a 100% serious question, as I explained earlier, I don't understand why people are being so negative about her. She is a young and passionate rider, she might not be perfect, but who is. Her message in her video is that even though some of these horses are difficult, she isn't going to give up on them. I for one hope she does really well, good luck to her.

eh as an event rider, we tend to NOT keep falling off constantly. If I fell off and crashed horses through that many jumps i'd be seriously reconsider my hobby/trainer/skills. I don't think i've fallen off or been reared on that much in 30 years of riding, and i retrain rescues. It's a very teenage drama angst filled video and i'd imagine she will look back on it fondly but cringing in a couple of years time.

Ha ha, jealous? Good lord! Who on earth would want to be that young and, well...stupid? Those that are no longer so remember being there, we certainly don't want to go back! Luckily I for one can now comment having gone through this phase and out the other side, much to the relief of any horse that I come in contact with. I feel quite sorry for the horses she is presenting in her videos; an experienced trainer would simply train them properly, not pull all that silly ****.

As hard as it may be to understand, I'm not remotely jealous of those who are younger than me. I was young once and I had a great time but, honestly, I'm happier now than I was back then when I felt compelled to look great at all times. Not sure how old you are but if you're still young, enjoy it while you can and then look forward to the next stage of your life :)

Re the rider in the video - I didn't watch much because she was so whiny and that's not a quality I admire in anyone, young or old. Determination is great, bleating on and on about the same thing is dull.

I didn't listen to the 'message' in her video, I watched it with the sound off. I didn't see a young person with difficult horses. I saw a bad trainer asking horses to do things that they simply were not ready to do.

Plenty of us have made the mistakes she is making when younger. Plenty of us have rehabilitated horses that other people have messed up. But we don't splat our mistakes or successes all over the internet and expect people to tell us how wonderful we are.

She really isn't doing anything terrible, she's just a young rider who believes in her purpose. It doesn't really matter what any of us think at the end of the day (which it is and I am going to bed :) ) lots of people like & support her so I'm sure she'll do ok. At least she's not one of those who expects to get an expensive horse ready made to go out and win everything, she seems like someone who puts the hours in. So good night everyone and all the very best to Therese :)

It annoyed me when she talked about hitting rock bottom and the devastating lows (or something like that, I can't bear to listen again to get the exact words). She obviously has no idea what real life is yet.

(As an aside, can someone tell me where to find emojis on here?)

If my horse(s) were going that badly, and I was falling off them as often as she seems to, I wouldn't put the videos on the internet.

I would be embarrassed.

Well we try not to fall of :)

You have to reply with 'Go Advanced'

She nearly died, ended up in hopsital, had to give up her dream job and come home. By the sounds of it she was desparately ill, so I would imagine it has something to do with this.

Yes shes a bit of a dramatic teenager, but not sure why everyone has decided to make statements like this when they dont know and havent bothered to look.

As I said previously, shes had training, lots of it, shes also had schoolmasters. She also admits to making mistakes but she was buying cheap horses and trying to turn them around from quite a young age and at the start she was on her own, with no facilities and a non horsey family. I'm sure shes not the only one who has made mistakes. She turned round all the horses she had and made a profit on all of them. She also appears to be having quite a lot of success recently.

Shes not someone I would choose to follow, but then again I'm not her target market. But I'm not sure she deserves to be ripped apart like this on the basis of one old video

Surely anyone who posts videos for the general public is opening themselves up to criticism? I can't see why you would do that unless you have very thick skin. I'm sure she has enough followers that like it, or she wouldn't keep posting.
