I made this video, it's my second ever attempt with this software... Think I'm improving a bit! What do you guys think of it/ how can I improve?

Also, how do you reckon our fake TB is looking? I'm thinking rather grown up!

It's a really nice vid, and well put together! He is stunning and they make a good team.

My only real crit is the audio. It's a bit cheesy and used by a lot of horsey teenage Youtubers :o I cringe whenever I hear those movie quotes!
That's prob just me though!

Really liked the vid (I never put the sound on though so can't comment :o)

Shows all the good, the bad and the beautiful of Al's journey. Having hit the deck today for the first time off new horse and being MUCH older than Al, admire her determination (and talent!)

Really good video! (but watched only, sound on mute OH grumpy and watching tv)
I do love your horses!

I know it's so cheesy, I am a sucker for it though :D Thank you though, I'm still getting to grips with it.

(next one is using a song off a B-side of Newton Faulkner that no one has heard of, so it'll be less yuck!)

She's hit the deck so often off Bee and I never catch it. She's done it 3 times on Reg in 3.5 years and they are all on camera! Glad you liked it though, tank you :)

Really good video! (but watched only, sound on mute OH grumpy and watching tv)

Thank you, we like them too. Even when Bee is being less charming than the photo depicts!

Much much better than last time. The real thing letting the quality down is the camera shake - how about investing in a cheap tripod to take out to events? I got mine off amazon for about 15 quid and it made a massive difference to footage quality (until J stood on it in the field and broke it  ).

Have to agree, not a fan of the over-used movie quotations, but that's just personal preference rather than video editing skill :D

Personally I thought it was a bit tacky, you sat on a school master and yanked it in the mouth a lot :(
Just my opinion :)

A. Not the OP riding.

B. Reg is only what his current jockey has made him - he's not some bought in schoolmaster.

Just my informed opinion.

Nice of you to add a smiley face at the end of a really harsh comment antw23uk :/ I just don't understand why you would want to hurt someone's feelings like that, anyhew good job on the vid lolo it's a lovely vid that shows how important your horse is to you :) x

Serious .. informed or not opinion .. horse is being yanked about all over the place!

Aye well that side of your opinion you're entitled to, I guess. The rest of it was just fiction, and that is what I was correcting :)

Just for the record, lolo, I didn't see much in the way of yanking. Maybe I need my eyes testing though...

What an amazing compliment to all Al's hard work if anyone can think of Reg as being a schoolmaster! (Completely serious :))

Would echo JFTD's comments on the shake, but cracking otherwise :D

OK I have changed my mind (obviously) Wonderful, fantastic and totally amazing ... Love love love

Childish, childish, childish. Nobody called for that  As far as I'm aware the OP asked for cc on the video - hence the positive and constructive comments (because the editing is decent) - not for comments on the rider anyway.

Very true, NN - compliments to Al :D

Thanks JFTD! Yeah, I need to stop being so nervous when they compete, lol... Easier said than done when it's your little sister on her ex-racer whom she's reschooled from scratch herself....

FWIW, Ant, that's a horse who had only raced when my sister (rider) got him. He was unschooled, green, strong and stressy. She was 15 and has spent the past 3 years turning him into the horse he is. Who is still considered a very tricky ride by virtually everyone round here despite her saying he's easy as pie. He is a charming and lovely horse who has made her who she is as a rider but she has made him who he is now.

He is a schoolmaster because she has made him one. And I doubt you could ride one side of him. Al (rider) has taken your comment as a compliment, because despite her godawful riding he is the star he is now :)

And as for the yanking... He's in a happy mouth snaffle because he's sensitive in the mouth. If he felt yanked about I'd imagine he would have a fair amount to say on the matter ;)

Thanks for the lovely comments guys, he is one in a million and everyone loves him a lot. None more than his (hopeless) jockey.

Sorry, Antw23UK, where in this did you see "please feel free to pull apart the jockey's skills or perceived lack of them at will"? 'cos that bit doesn't show up on my computer...

eta - also childish to delete your comments post facto. Just because you're not in the majority

Antw23uk that is not being shot down for having an opinion as it is comments like yours that knock people's confidence. Are you a superb rider?

Lovely horse and you have obviously done a super job with him. Re yanking in the mouth, it was noticed a bit but more just you getting behind the movement I think nothing horridly habitual as some lovely jumping there too.

I despair! Honestly why be so negative?

jealousy ?

Will now trawl through OP threads to find out how wonderufl they are and how stupid i must be for having an opinion on a forum when a question is asked. ... regardless of how the rider is sitting like a sack of ***** and being taken round a course ... whilst yanking said horse in said gob!

no not stupid at all , bitchy maybe but def not stupid :D

nice video op :)

This forum is going through an odd time atm - posts seem to turn so quickly. it's really hard to read some of these caustic comments, and to be quite frank, I DO NOT WANT TO READ THEM.

OP, it just does not seem to be the "right time" to post videos on here. They all get pulled apart. Lovely horse, and I enjoyed the vid.

Did you regret posting this by any chance?

*confused*

You could at least have the courage of your convictions.

Neither do we tbh :( Al's 18 and loves her horse dearly and works bloody hard with him. She is really shaken by this, she's 18 and I never asked for CC on her. She has enough lessons to know her faults inside out and back to front. Internet strangers telling her she rides like "s!!t" isn't cool.

FWIW, this is Reg 3 years ago ;) We love him, but my goodness is he not a schoolmaster!

Nice editing Antw23uk

I just looked through the video, paying close attention to the hands, and didn't notice any yanking.

In fact at the sticky moment at 0.28, the rider actually slips her reins to avoid yanking - whereas many riders would have been caught out and given the unfortunate horse a sock in the mouth.
