i was on you tube last night and come across this very distressing can we do anything to help like to start a petion to try and stop this crulety happening! go to you tube type in horse slaughter.... stop it! watch it and tell me this is not right!xx very up setting!

what the hell are you lot on about? i was trying to maybe get a petion together to try and stop horses going through pain and abuse i dont know why i bothered if you lot are like this!

Sorry we were being facetious. Please look into what happened in America when the slaughter of horses was banned. They now have to endure terribly long journeys to Canada and Mexico where the legislation on slaughter is lax to say the least. There is always going to be a need for slaughter houses but what we MUST do is bring an end to live export for slaughter.

I'm sure everyone here is aware of horse slaughter and probably seen videos. I dont see the point in your post though. Its not a new topic. Join the 'Make a noise' ILPH campaign if you feel that strongly perhaps?
 
i think you are getting me all wrong i know slaughter has to happen i can not just understand why they need to go through all the abuse travelling before hand. why carnt they be shoot before the traveling they are going to die any way so but them for that?

As with any meat, horse meat can only be classified by the country in which it is slaughtered. For example, Italy is one of the largest consumers of horse meat in the world and the cost is up to 4 times as much for "Italian" meat. If it was slaughtered in another country and shipped on the hook rather than the hoof it could not be classified Italian.
